We couldn't agree more :)
However multiplayer where people are playing together in the same store will not be possible, as a feature like that should have been incorporated in the first line of code. So for that to happen, will basically require the game to be reworked from scratch.
And as we are only two persons building the game, we need to pick our battles for what we implement.
But we are planning that at some point in the future, there will be some kind of "Corporate" mode, where people make a company, and share a headquarter or something like that and coexist in the same city, or the other way around compete against each other.
If you have any great ideas to how multiplayer could be incorporated, we are very interested in hearing them out :)
I really wish there could be a little coop mode (just to play with one friend together would be enough for me).
I see your struggles and i really understand, why you cant fulfill this wish, but I appreciate WAY more, that you have open ears for suggestions. My respect for this. All other devs wouldnt offer something like this.
I can understand and respect you for that, even though I would love the idea of playing with my friends in the same store, manage and work together. I would love to see that feature in the future, mostly in the „One Shop“ Game Mode. I feel like, it shouldn’t be that hard to implement, but then again it‘s probably the edge cases, that need to be thought of, and it’s not as easy, as it sounds.
In a perfect world, I would love to start this Game Mode with my friend, design the first shop together. The income and expenses are shared, as well as the current money. Before each day, if one player wants to start a new day, there will be a „ready check“ (like in e.g. Age of Empires). Then the usual business life starts, and you can coordinate with your mates, to make this business another success. Would recommend though to disable the „speed up“ button during multiplayer. The game really seems like a multiplayer would be a lot of fun. Someone can take care of business, while the other can redesign the shop, for example.
But then again, thank you for the game and the great effort :)
DLC's differentiate from the core code itself.
As Dohlar mentioned, the whole code would have to be rewritten; which involves networking, databases, etc.
A bigger development team is very much needed for that, especially if my presumptions are correct in that the game is written in C++ xD
I would be for a multiplayer mode where you can work together in the same store. I would even go so far if you had to pay for it, but it would be an update idea and so many more people would certainly buy it because everything is always better with two people. I hope you respond to your comunity wishes because as I have read there are only two of you but take your time that it will be cool for it. I'd also love to help you out with ideas.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE
Best regards
Will there be a co-op mode in the second part of the game?
No, there will be no Multiplayer in King of Retail 2. The developers themselves said so.
