nexuiz was made by LordHavoc (Forest Hale) creator of the DarkPlaces engine a significantly modified Quake engine so if you want a old school arena fps with modern graphics..
but sadly this is on CryENGINE3

i would try to get it for cheep and with friends since it is dead / no player base, I had it on xbox360 and the servers where shut down :(

never really got to play anyone.. i think i played bots

nothing wrong with this game and it should be shown some love, after a long time with its rights up in the air or something dedicated servers are back and the game is once again being sold. game is fine and is truly unique

Both are 100% dead, not a single person online. If you're fine with playing against bots, both are pretty great; Toxikk is like Unreal Tournament 3 that's actually FUN for PC (plus it has great maps), and Nexuiz... can't really say, Nexuiz is its own thing, all this crap with mutators that makes it pretty fun even against bots. Plus, MK64_Blockfort!

It's still a whole lot of fun when you play against bots, which are fairly competent at the game. I have run into a few fairly strange visual glitches, though.

I honestly really enjoyed playing this launch month. Now playing with bots is just as entertaining. The graphics are breathtaking and the design is great, very fun and underrated arena shooter worth a look for sure.
