have you not heard of the myth of the Sun Wukong the monkey king? the trickster god? its had a chinese CG movie called Journey to the West (though i believe this game is more based on the more heavily CG movie Journey to the West 2) based on a 16th century chinese novel of the same name, look it up on youtube while i can't find the one good fight scene i saw awhile ago Sun Wukong the monkey king is a mythological character, i believe the sayens are based on him.
also note the Sun Wukongs signiture weapon is a a staff named Ruyi Jingu Bang, so the use of the Bo staff in the game is not out of place.
thus this is not some "DBZ rip off" but an exploreation on the monkey king story, i just hope its good, looked like it was fun to play but you never know.

In fact, the wishful golden hoop was only obtained after Sun Wukong arrived at the East China Sea Dragon Palace.
I think this game is mainly about his story in a place called Huaguo mountain. After the end of this story, Sun Wukong will go to the Dragon Palace in order to find a suitable weapon. I bet this game will have a follow-up DLC.
(Btw, Journey to the West is a very interesting myth, I highly recommend to take a look)
