How to save the Game?

I played the game more than 1 hour 2 times but there is no option to save the game. When i go back to the Menu i only can start a new game? Help me please!

If you go to a glowing statue of the bodhisattva, there's an option to save the game. The first one appears a little after you get out of the cave. Be careful because the confirm button is different than the interact button on controller, and the game gives no indication what-so-ever about whether or not you saved.
