I'm working on figuring that out, too, but I've only had a day or so to play with it. So far it looks very similar in intent but I can't seem to find the ability to customize the widgets (changing fonts, colors, though scale is available) or easily build Frankenwidgets by taking the parts I like and mooshing the code together. Also in their download gallery theres a few which use the word "Free" as a prefix... if I have to pay for the use of a widget without knowing what that cost will be-- or worse, *rent* a widget-- then I will dump this faster than you can say Jack Robinson.

Hopefully it won't come to that, of course.

Rainmeter is Great, XWidget learned a lot of great ideas from Rainmeter, but XWidget is more easy to uses:
1. XWidget had a WSYWYG visual designer and easy to create widgets, and support powful Javascript.
2. XWidget had a build-in Widdgets Gallery support one-click to install ALL new widgets.
3. XWidget widgets are easy config with option window.
