So after beating it once, I have to replay the same Pat games over and over?

Once you beat the game, you can't just skip the story points anymore? I actually have to go back to the restaurant periodically, check in with Pat, play his games again, and be limited on my time to explore? Why not just let the player discover and collect and complete the game without further obstacles or mandatory re-treading? Am I missing something?

Yeah that's just how it is... pretty annoying, but you get quicker at it eventually. I heard the devs are planning to fix this but I'm not sure if that's true.

What a bummer. I hope they do, because I won't be spending what precious little time I have to play games on this otherwise-gem of an experience until then.

Just chiming in to say this was exactly my reaction - I made sure to see (I think) every character and experience their minigames, but I'd be going for 100% if I could pause time and/or skip Pat's segments.
