- If you want to play with more than 4 Xbox Controllers:
go to Options > "Use Xinput for controllers" and turn it OFF. If you are playing in Big Picture mode, you should also turn of "Enable Xbox Controller Configuration" in the Big Picture Controller settings.
- If you want to play with more than 4 other controllers (PlayStation, Switch, Steelseries etc.), you can leave "Xinput" enabled and they should work automatically.
Some Boomerang Fu players have fixed this by rolling back to an earlier version of Windows 10, but we haven't been able to nail down exactly which Windows 10 Update number caused the issue.
I tried disabling the X-input, but my Wireless Xbox one controller stopped working in the game
I have other Logitech controllers which has a button to toggle between X-input & D-input so they worked fine, however I don't know how to make the Xbox wireless to work ?
We just pushed a hotfix patch that fixes "Xinput off" in Boomerang Fu after the Windows 10 October 2020 Update!
Your Xbox controllers should now work again, but please let us know if you still have issues.
Some genral info on topic can be found here: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/morethan4localmultiplayer/discussions/0/135514823815481232/ Go spread it among game devs! ;-)
1. Enable Steam input for Boomerang Foo in it's controller settings.
2. Set XInput off in Boomerang foo itself as it will treat all of the controllers as XBox controllers.
All six then show up fine at character selection, you just have to ignore the fact that the PS4 controllers buttons show as though they are XBox controllers in the UI e.g. Green A instead of X etc.
