Expansions needed?
I see that the collector edition has only two expansions. Are those kinda essential for enjoyment? What other expansions should I get?

Thanks!

The Rivelfolk Expansion brings two new factions to the game and they are more challenging to understand than the base game factions. That being saying, the Lizard Cult is my favorite faction in the game!

The Underworld expansions brings two new maps to the game and two new, medium difficulty factions. They are quite fun.

I don't quite see any point with The Clockwork Expansion, except if you want to learn how to use board game's automa. Don't get this one.

I highly recommend playing ALL faction tutorials and playing with all of them, because otherwise you won't know the strength and weaknesses of different factions. Marquise de Cat / Eyrie Dynasties are the most straightforward to understand, then maybe Vagabond and then Woodland Alliance.

The expansions are mainly bringing more factions or maps to the game. I would recommend starting with the base game and if you like it, get the expansions (at least Riverfolks and Underworld)

Bought the base game!

I was thinking of Exiles, as the Vagabond "race" seemed interesting. Underworld doesn't have a big discount, and riverfolk... I see a lot of people complaining it's for a larger playerbase and the new additions are hard to grasp...

What do you think?

The point of the clockwork expansion is to play against the automata, which is a different experience than playing vs the AI's in the base game (which are trivially easy to beat with rudimentary knowledge of the rules).
