Freezing and Desync on Multiplayer Games?
I know this has likely come up before because it has happened already 3 times to myself and my friend trying to play co-op together online in our few hours we have owned the game. It seems that the ai takes a turn and does some sort of action (we believe double attack in the same clearing) that breaks the game.

The host still sees the game progress as normal, but anyone connected desync's and cannot play the game any longer, as it never progresses past that action that lasts eternally and never passes the game along.

The host still sees the other person afk and not take turn/ etc, but the connected players do not.

Without a method of reconnecting to an ongoing game, the only option is for the connected player to forfeit, which is super lame... Is there a fix for this that we are missing? We love the game, but this bug makes it demoralizing to play..

Hey there,

We're sorry to hear you're running into that. Could you drop us a line at https://www.direwolfdigital.com/support/ so we can take a closer look?

We'll watch for your report.

Did you find out a solution to this?
A couple friends and I are having the same issue and it's driving us nuts.
It can happen 2 or 3 turns in, or it can happen when the game is almost over.
It can happen when any two of us are playing a game together, no matter who hosts, and it can happen with all 3 of us playing.
We've also completed a few games, with different ones of us hosting. So the game *can* stay synced for us, for long enough for a game to complete, but it usually doesn't.
We are all on discord so we notice the desync pretty quick, since one of the players will will suddenly stop performing actions in the game for one or more of us, but then for the others, the turns will complete and it'll already be somebody else's turn.
During the last couple of times we tried it, the person who had desynced was able to just quit the game *without* resigning and quickly rejoin the game through the "active" server list.
That worked one time to let a player back in, but then the game desynced for the same player *again* on the next turn, and they got kicked with a message saying their timer had run out twice so the ai would be replacing them for the rest of the game.
The next time it allowed the other playing back in, but then I desynced shortly after, and accidently hit resign instead of force quitting the game, so the server wouldn't show up for me in the active list.
Anyway, if anybody has figured out a solution, I'd love to hear about it. And as another person pointed out, it's very hard to search for answers for this via google, because the name is "root" which brings up pretty much every page where somebody mentions the root of a given problem, but it's practically never about *this* game.

There seems to be an uptick of this as of the last few days. Today my friend and I tried to play about 10 games and all of them we had to quit because either of us got desynced. Was there a recent update that's causing this?

My friends and I found that we had *significantly* less desync issues if you basically don't touch *anything* when it isn't your turn.
We both have a habit of clicking on this and that, like going in to read rules, or rechecking what the birds have set as their declared goals, etc, but apparently doing that makes the odds of getting desynced go waaaay up.
so, until the issue is fixed, you might want to try clicking on things, and/or moving the mouse around, as little as possible to see if that helps.
Good luck :)
