There is a non steam history version with all the other settlers.
Unfortunately, this doesn't answer my question...
The History Edition of the games are designed to run on Windows 10, whereas the previous Gold editions of the games may not have natively supported Windows 10.
The online servers should work for games that are History Edition versions, the Gold edition versions of the game, may not be able to connect to our servers now, this would be the case for Settlers 7 as it features on our retired servers list >

Another reason to create History Editions versions of our games, is to give the players the option to own all older games in one bundle.
I hope I have been able to answer your questions, if you have any more about The Settlers 7 History Edition, please let us know?

So there is absolutely no reason for me to buy the History Edition, right? It is just the same game?
Hey Eisenmonoxid,
By native support - we're referring to the fact that the original titles were release before Windows 10, so didn't make full use of the OS, whereas the History Edition is updated to better support modern systems. This is before we get into the matter of hardware being different since the original releases too.
It's completely up to players if they opt to purchase the History Edition.
If you're more than happy with the original game's performance and don't feel any use for the History Edition there's no need to purchase it.
If you have any other questions, just let us know.
