Downloadable maps

Can you add new maps to this version in the way that you could in the original?
Thinking of buying the steam version but will go for a disc one if you can't add maps (some incredible ones out there!)

I don't actually know, but I think if you could it would be easier with the steam version.

In the disc version you just unzipped and copied the maps to one of the internal directories, so will give it a go.

Please feel free to let the community know if you were able to load the custom maps! I would really enjoy new maps to explore for Settlers 6. Wish I had more for Settlers 7 too.

Works just like the old retail version - unzip and put in the User Maps directory (in Documents, not in Steam directory) and play!
I have tried a couple of old favourites and it worked beautifully.

I got new maps from https://www.siedler-maps.de/

I am sure there are other sources !

I just tried putting the map file into the user maps folder like you said but can't find the map ingame. I downloaded from the same website. Any idea where I'm going wrong?

No worries! Sorted it. I downloaded an Eastern Realm map and was trying to play on vanilla
