How do I play online?

I just bought this, and was wondering how to play online agaist others. Is there some sort of like platform where we can host multiplayer games and which you can join? Thank you in advance!

You click on Multiplayer and then open a game.
Unfortunally you will desync at a certain point which is about 60+minutes.
There are ways to play with other custome clients without desyncs aslong as there are no differents.

Yes but when I do that I see nobody haha. Is there not another platform like Gameranger or something where oldschool players play The Settlers?

The Gold Edition is getting played via Gameranger.
There are not many players on the History Edition (there never were that many, so its better to find friends)
Another way would be to play on a custom client. For that you have to downgrade your History Version to the Gold Edition. Then you could play with other (and almost without any problems regarding MP), but as I said: You need to find some players by yourself to play with them.

Since yesterday I have checked gameranger a couple of times but I saw nobody host a game. I know a couple of years ago I sometimes saw a game. So i thought there must be some kind of other platform maybe.

Is multiplayer still working for this? I see Ubisoft saying multiplayer features have been discontinued.

It is working, but is isn't really stable. you will get network disconnects after certain time and you won't be able to reconnect in the History Edition.
I am playing on a custom client where I am able to load into MP games, but for that you have to convert the History Edition to the Gold Edition.

As for today, customer´s service didnt answer any of my several claims yet. The message in his main page is still (no answers on email, only on live caht, but live chat is still " out of service due to covid"from one year ago, so Im still say as above
