The Settlers : Heritage of Kings - History Edition

The Settlers : Heritage of Kings - History Edition

Where the expansions at?
Hello guys, I had the gold edition years and years ago, and I remember I could play the sharpshooters campaign just by launching the main game; you could then choose which version of the game to play by clicking the corresponding button in the main menu.
Since I read the history edition has both dlcs included, but I don't see any expansion button in the main menu, how can I play them?

You go into your liberay and select the game Settlers heritage of kings. Then there is a big green PLAY-button. Click that one and you will get a selection of what you wanna start up

Hey there rikiton!

Following on from schmeling65's post, are you still having trouble locating your expansions?

nice :)
i had no idea how to access it either but i am still only half way through main quest so it's good to know for later :)

i did see that some of the DLC has not been translated to english though. looking through the expansion packs maps some of the descriptions are still in german and some are in english

I can't explain that for now because I didn't look that deep into the scripts and xml files. Also I am playing the game on german which makes it harder to find the issue for me since everything looks normal :steambored:

haha yeah it's wierd as the legends expansion is even worse. some mission descriptions are in english and quite a few are in german. the voice over for the mentor in legends doesn't work either when starting the main quests.

if the game worked exactly right then it would be a very rare thing on steam as buggy ports is basically a religion for steam :D
the game is still playable so some parts will just be a bit of guess work. i don't mind that.
happy gaming :)

legends never had a voice over. Just saying. It is basically a port from the old Gold Edition with some tiny additions, but not nothing crazy.
I can deal with it.

Glad to know you now know how to access the expansions, tubbsco6!

I can see that the issue regarding some features (such as custom maps and objectives) appearing in German has been forwarded up to the development team for further review. If any additional information becomes available, it will be posted to our Support Website[support.ubi.com] and the game's official forum.[forums.ubi.com]

Thanks!

cool :)
if the staff at ubisoft ever decide to consider re-releasing a windows 10 compatible version of the original game, without the need for the booklet (my gods that thing was a whole tree :D ) and its need for the 3-icon verification, then you are welcome to put me down as a 'yes' vote if it helps swing the decision :)

i do miss those little guys waving at me as they take my goods the wrong way, which was part of it's charm :D

Thanks for sharing your feedback with us, tubbsco6! I'm glad to hear about your enthusiasm for the game (well, perhaps not for the booklet, but it's part of the experience :D)!

Any new updates for the Settlers franchise will be shared on our official platforms, as well as within the game's official forums, so I'd recommend checking these places regularly.

Thanks!

For those who installed the game in German or something...

In order to be able to select the DLCs at the start, the game must be set to English on Steam.

Thanks for sharing this workaround Istariot. This will undoubtedly be helpful to other players.

Thanks!

the button stays on "play" , can't access to the DLC

Did you press on "play" in your steam liberay?
