[MOD] How to disable Noby’s “EY” voiceover on every action
Hey everyone,

Idk if anyone is still playing this game and is still interested in fixing the most annoying thing about the game. I bought the game just a week ago and whilst I am enjoying it quite a lot, there was this one immersion breaking sound that made me not wanting to play the game at all. Noby’s loud “EY” voiceover sound on every single action done ingame. This annoyed me so much that I decided to try to find a fix for this and i did !!

There is obviously the easy one by just disabling all the voices ingame but this one (in my opinion) SUCKS because it takes away too much and breaks immersion aswell without any voiceovers (I can tell you this much, there are around 750 different voiceover sounds ingame so by disabling the voices in the option menu you disable all of them at once -.- This was no option to me as i enjoy the little voiceovers because they are fitting well into the game) so I checked the files and found the perfect solution for this “problem”.

You can quite easily disable just this one sound effect with leaving everything else identical to before.

1. SLOW Solution (IF you want to mod it yourself):

First you will need the Unity Assets Bundle Extractor Tool (I'll call it UABE from now on) which is a community made tool to extract and reimport Assets for Unity Engine games (this game is based on the Unity Engine obviously)

Download the tool here (or if you feel unsafe clicking on that 100% safe link, you can just google it and find that link yourself, i actually did find that link from googling myself):

I took the 2.2 stable d version (64 bit, second (github) download link).

If you feel unsave you can always download this file and WITHOUT using/opening it on your PC just upload it on https://www.virustotal.com/gui/

Great side that checks all files you upload with all anti virus and anti maleware programs available (like 70 of them) so you can be 1000% sure that a file is save :D:D:D I can only advise you to do this with all files you download from the internet, I’m definitely checking all files I download from the internet through this site before opening/using them on my PC.

After you’ve downloaded the app, unpack it and start it through it’s "AssetBundleExtractor.exe” File.

Now go into your steam directory and into the following subdirectory:

\steamapps\common\DORAEMON STORY OF SEASONS\DORaEMON STORY OF SEASONS_Data\StreamingAssets\AssetBundle\Win\sound

Here you can find a voice.jp file and a voice.jp.manifest file. First BACKUP both files somewhere else !!

After you’ve backuped both files, in UABE click on file and open the voice.jp file. The App will ask you if you want to unpack it, click YES and type in a filename of your liking, doesn’t matter what, I choose 123. Then save. This will extract the .jp file into that new container file. Leave everything as it is and click on the Info button in UABE.

A new window should open with hundreds of Assets. Sort those by Name and search for the Asset:

voice_100800000

Click on that Asset and click on the remove button in the lower right corner of that window. Click YES on the confirmation dialogue.

After you’ve done so, click File and save in that Asset Info Window, then OK.

Now you need to do the same in the main UABE window. Click on File and Save. Type in a file name you want, I would choose “voice” and save the file.

A new file without any extension will be created. The last thing you need to do is go to that newly created file and rename it to:

voice.jp

The file needs to have that .jp extension for it to work. After you’ve done so you are finished with modding out that annoying “EY” sound from the game.

Just copy over that new voice.jp file and replace it with the original one (remember to backup the original voice.jp and voice.jp.manifest files before).

Now we come to the last step and I’m not sure if its necessary but it doesn’t hurt either (who knows it might crash sooner or later by trying to load that sound file that doesn't exist within that container anymore so better be safe than sorry and disable this in the manifest file aswell). Open the voice.jp.manifest file in your WordPad Windows App and search for the same Asset name, being “voice_100800000.wav”

Put two // in front of that line of code to disable this line. The entire line should look like that:

// - Assets/Resources/Sound/Voice/voice_100800000.wav

Leave everything else untouched and safe the file.

You’re done, enjoy the game with all voices enabled except the horrible "EY" sound from Noby :D

I tested it out for a bit and it works flawlessly for me, hope it will work for you too ;)

2. FAST Solution (IF you don't want to mod it yourself):

I guarantee you, it sounds more complex than it is. Its super easy and safe, you can all do it within 5 minutes yourself. But if you don’t want to do it yourself I’ve uploaded both modded files for you to use without having to mod them yourself. IF you download my files, just copy and replace them with the originals (still backup the original files first ofc) and you are done. The only sound I disabled in my files is the “EY” voiceover from Noby, everything else is untouched. Also if you feel unsafe in downloading my files, rest assured, they are 100% clean BUT you can still always check them on virustotal.com after downloading them to see for yourself :) I actually always advise to check everything you download from the internet on virustotal.com because it’s the safest thing you can possibly do :D

Here's the Link to the .rar archive containing both, the original files and the modded ones:

I hope I could help someone with that and I hope you will be able to enjoy the game more than before without that horrible “EY” sound from Noby.

Best regards

Hi, I just start playing the games for few days and find it quite annoying but tolerable for now. I can't imagine who would enjoy hearing it repeatedly while farming hmmm . I am very reluctant to install unfamiliar programs on my pc for lots of reasons , not computer savy and etc. Thanks for sharing :D , I might need to do it someday.

yw :) i would just download either the apps and do it myself or just my finished mod and check it through virustotal.com. this will give you 100% security because virustotal.com checks each file you upload (the files can be up to 100mb big if i remember correctly) with like 70 different virus and maleware scanners and all known are among them.

just downloading a file on your system without opening it shouldn't be a problem because you can't possibly get an infection as long as you don't open that particular file (as in double click on it). thats what i'Ve been doing for the past few years since i had a bad virus infection :) i can guarantee you that virustotal.com gives you the best security you can get on this planet :D

Thanks OP for the mod! Thank god for not constantly needing to hear it everytime you do something especially mining. It's too much even for a fan of the series for me! :gbvs_gran:

Thanks for the mod. Not annoying for me now but I can quite imagine how it would feel hearing it for next 50+ or so hours. So saving the instructions now and leaving that file editing for later :)

I'm happy i could help a few ppl so far :)

thanks for the answer, i really appreciate every single person who gives an answer to this thread here as it makes me happy to see i could help someone enjoy the game without that one little annoying flaw :D

if anything comes up in the future and if this stops working (although i doubt it because the game most likely is not going to get another patch) just tell me and i'll look into it ;)
