What is the BEST priority for upgrading tools? Lets Discuss!
I found some tools that "less" useful after upgrade, so I restart the game to make sure I didn't waste the materials. Here is my priority tools upgrade:

1. Bronze Pickaxe
2. Bronze Axe
3. Bronze Watering Can
4. Iron Axe
5. Iron Pickaxe
6. Bronze Hammer
7. Watering Can Iron
8. Silver Pickaxe
9. Silver Axe
10. Gold Pickaxe
11. Gold Axe . (Still dunno if there is something after Gold)
1x. the rest (Watering, Hammer, Hoe and Scyte is my less priority)

The reason is I need more Wood and Ore to upgrade tools and build something. Rock is important too, but without upgrade any tool, I can have a lot of rock when mining.

The big rock doesn't bother me, since I don't really care about my farm decoration for now. So, a good hammer can wait.

What do you think? Maybe you have a better ideas.... Thank you :)

i did the copper water can first because i hate watering due to the fact i am spoiled with using sprinklers :)

Then did the iron pick axe which i now regret...because it give less iron and silver ore then the copper one.

So now i have learned that it will take a VERY long time mining to do tool upgrades !! So the question should include which is the best way to recover your energy so you can mine longer :)

I found this 2 solutions for this:
1. Tricky : Save - Load when mining (Coz the ore & hole position still same)
2. Long Term : Upgrade house and you can cook something to recover the energy

Hmm... Seems like you like plant a lot. I just focus in other thing like mining, fishing, bug, and cutting down trees. :D

i personally recommend pickaxe when starting the game, as the fossils and amber from lower level mines were my primary source of income during springtime (they do make good backup funds too) they’ll net you enough money to buy the woods you need to upgrade your house (to access the kitchen).

Pickaxe > Watering Can > Axe > Hoe > Everything else. Upgrade everything to bronze first, iron if you need a faster farming routine.

You think gold is the final upgrade? It's only the BEGINNING.

Priority Should always go for Watering Can, a gold watering can lets you water 9 squares in a square for 4 stamina (vs 2 square for 2 and 3 for 3). Protip: don't sell your gems you need 5 per upgrade.

A copper/iron pickaxe its enough to reach floor 4-6 where you start getting gold and gem drops to get silver/gold upgrades although it might depend more on luck depending if the rope spawns behind a blackest floor or not, Silver/Gold if you want to clear each floor completely after but getting enough stamina to do that its difficult on the first few months.

Hammer and Axe are kinda useless since it only affects how fast you clear those trees/rocks, no amount of stamina its saved afaik, Hammer even more since you get a ton of construction rocks from the mines already. Hoe its for convenience for the start of season to set everything faster (And then leave it in inventory for a whole month), Sickle if you have lots of grass and grains. Fish Pole for better money making in a few spots.

So if you ask me it would be Watering Can > Pickaxe > FishPole/Axe > Hoe/Sickle > Hammer.

On another post. To give more detail: Pickaxe to copper first iron if you care about charging speed, then watering can to gold, fishing pole to copper/iron if summer (For Harlin for a event and the Mbenga fish that sells for lots), Pickaxe to Silver to let you clear each floor then do whatever you heart desires.

Copper/Iron Pickaxe > Gold Watering Can > Copper/Iron Fishing Pole > Silver/Gold Pickaxe > FishPole/Axe > Hoe/Sickle > Hammer > Leftovers.

Edit: How you unlock the super upgrades? Got the Gold Watering Can but no route to Super.

maybe unlock by blacksmith shop event. rise their friendship (maybe after you see doreamon gadget from blacksmith)

and for max pickaxe only one hit/stamina can dig every type of floor
that mean for 1 full floor u use 48 stamina

i first upgraded my watering can and hoe to copper first. Then after farming for a season or so i focused on the pickaxe and now have upgraded it to silver.

Farming is a good priority in the first season or so, as for example i farmed a bunch of potatoes and made about $25,000 twice during each harvest. I used the money for either upgrading tools or purchasing stamina upgrades from the Doctor.

My hree top priorities are upgrading my pickaxe, fishing rod, and watering can. I'm surprised no one else is going for the rod, fishing is the easiest money maker I've found so far in the first few months.

Has anyone else noticed how bad the upgrades are in this game compared to other HM games? They don't seem to actually do anything except to let you charge more which doesn't actually save you any stamina and very little time.

For example: Old watering can is 1 square for 1 stamina and you can do it really fast. Copper Watering can lets you do 2 squares for 2 stamina but you have to stop and charge, making it actually slower to use and the same amount of stamina as old can. Iron Watering Can lets you do 3 squares with longer charge time and 3 stamina. So even at Iron you save 0 stamina and barely water faster since the charge time is almost the same as the time to actually just water normally.
I'm sure at later upgrades maybe this gets better, but it's crazy how much ore it takes for the upgrades and it doesn't really help at all.

Same for the axe. I upgraded to iron and there is literally no difference at all in how many hits it takes to get a tree down. The only change is being able to charge to do 2 or 3 hits at once, but those charges still use 2 and 3 stamina respectively so you aren't saving any stamina and saving very little time since the normal swing is very fast anyway.

Iron Pick is the same way. I upgraded to iron but it still takes 2 hits for the 2nd floor type so it literally does nothing except to let me charge to break it in one hit instead of 2, but still uses 2 stamina.

water can reduce stamina used .it use 4 for 3*3 at gold
Axe too i upgrade axe to iron. if u use copper or not charge iron for biggest tree it consume 18+1 stamina but if u charge it use 16+1

for pickaxe ... upgrade it go further and get Super upgrade ASAP

I love to upgrade my fishing rod too. But, it is only until Bronze is enough I guess

Yes, the mechanism is very different here. We can only refill the stamina or wasting time by take a nap. :(
