Is TWZ2 Pay To Win?
My friends think the Walking Zombie 2 is pay to win but i and the community will debunk that statement. I will say 1 statement and have the community give there take on the topic.

I think the Walking Zombie 2 is not pay to win, and i think this because many weapon's or unlock's in the game like the apartment can easily be bought by the main line missions and ace missions for extra pocket money to buy what you need.

So what do you think? Here's my newest opinion! v

Also. Thank you for all the feedback! It has a couple months scince this post came to the board and honestly i think this game punishes you for buying things. ok ok ok besides unlimited gas and some starter packs like the chuck norris pack. The items you get are easily replaceable with better items. But i would still like to hear you're opinions!

The result is that if you play free then you need to do breaks between game sessions as you will not have enough gasoline to continually travell to the quest zones. If you can handle this then there is no need to spend money to finish the game.
However if you enjoy the gameplay I highly recommend to buy ingame Steam pack or the outer Mega Pack DLC. It drasticaly improve your freedome as u can travel whereever you want.

I do not "Think" i "know" it is "not" "pay to win", 1st time playing through took longer but i did every quest without spending money after that i did get the 1st pack for unlimited gas and been playing since.

spending money helps ya save time and does add some fun to it but that is it.nothing more, nothing less.

The stuff you can buy is not needed to do any quest counting the last one just makes you take longer to do the quests that is it if you do not spend money.

You can earn silver/gold coins to spend on what the game does have it just takes "Time"

I been playing this game for long time now and don't think the hours played on this account are fully right because i have played this game in offline mode too.

Not pay to win but if you want to do the other options in the game, you're going have to part with some cash... The game is mostly pointless once you complete the finished missions.

... because the game isn't finished and you will have to work hard or spend cash.

You won't really have to wait for free gas if you:

a) Manage your gas properly (duh);

b) Optimize your trips (like clear a bunch of missions that are closer to each other on a single run);

c) Spend - a good chunk of - silver coins and time upgrading the Open World area for *a lot* of gas. Really, the excess of gas is actually a bigger problem for me than the other way around;

d) Check the City of the Sun and Northtown's traders (not the arms dealers), as they can sell gas cans for very, very little.

With that, I'd say the game is pretty much not pay to play, and also it's not really pay to win as well, as i've never spent a single penny on it and I feel like I cleared the game with very little effort, actually.

Since there is no multiplayer in this game Pay To Win doesn't exist - it is not very hard to finish the game (up to whatever unfinished stage that is currently available) without buying anything from the shop.

The only thing you may want to buy is the DLC that gives you unlimited gas, if you want to play without worrying about fuel for your car. However, it's not too difficult to get fuel remains and water to make gasoline after you have reached level 18 and saved Ruby, to gain access to Open World. Unless you want to do gas guzzling activities like Safe Hunting, you don't have to pay to progress in game.

Once you have the Rifle 3000 available for silver coins, you can finish the current game without any problem (that is, unless they add new better weapons that can be bought with silver - I highly doubt this)

If you want something better than what you can get from traders, you can always save up some gold coins and buy the things available for gold, but you have to keep watching the shop to wait for the best powered weapon to appear.

The only reason you may want to spend real money in the shop is for the advanced weapons that can only be bought with real money, like the advanced laser weapons. HOWEVER, a big however here: Energy ammo won't drop from enemies, nor can you manufacture them in workbenches... You can only buy them from traders from CotS and Northtown, and currently, there are only 4 of them that will sell you energy ammo. Lets say each of them sells 500 normal energy ammo and 300 advanced ammo (which is not always true, most of the time you get less than that), that's 800 x 4 = 3200 rounds. With the speed these weapons spend ammo, you'll be lucky if you can get through 3 missions with these. AND THERE IS NO WAY TO REPLENISH YOUR ENERGY AMMO for another, like 2 hours and 45 minutes (roughly how long for traders to refresh and replenish their stock), so go ahead, spend $7 for a fancy laser rifle that hardly last 3 missions.

I have now officially disregard energy weapons, I won't even want yo buy the Small Laser Rifle, and never spend any skill points on energy weapon skill, and never spend any silver on the related books.

People in Alda Games are really clever. No, they are GENIUS!!

Yeah Rifle 3000 is the best weapon you can get for Silver. The SCAR can be a good alternative, the difference is only 3 damage less, but every other stat is the same and you can get it cheaper with cheaper upgrade. You can check my guide/list here:

If you considering to spend Gold then there is two option in Shop the P90 (SMG) and the M202 (rocket launcher). Also a Guide/list here:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2187678958

The problem with Energy weapons that they are overal not worth. As you said Energy Ammo never drop and also cant set it on ammo table. Traders also have very low amount of them always, like half of the other ammos average. The other issue is that you need to skill up Laser weapon skill and there is only two weapon you can buy for Silver (not even any Gold cost version) the Laser Pistol and the Small Laser Rifle. They both have good damage, but low ammo capacity and they are not better than the above mentioned Rifle 3000 or SCAR. Im very disappointed with them.
If they dont change the Shop Energy weapons to Gold cost or drasticaly reduce their price (3 Euro) then realy not worth to invest to these path (skill+money).
