Rude Community Manager? care to explain? I've only come to play the game recently through a friend and I just recently followed their twitter but haven't seen any posts.
If it was a great game about entering a city, killing devlish and strong monsters, to then loot the hell out of this place as it grows more dangerous over time, to leave at the right moment before the area gets overrun by monsters, i would buy it in a heartbeat.
But the way it is right now plus its price, its a no go or only if at a large sale.
Yet, it still would be focussing on PvP too much and i think thats a problem these loot extractor games need to overcome at one point.
Its really NOT the PvP that creates the fun and tension in these games.
Im playing Tarkov and such because of the fun experience and PvE when looting.
Im having fun despite the PvP, not because of it.
Getting a game out that has a fun PvE concept, with coop and the loot extraction, would possibly be a big seller.
While 1k players is achievement on its own for a ambitious MP game from people you never heard about its also initial pop which always decreases greatly after short time so you need to expect actual playerbase to be as low as few % of this which is why you really want launch players to be as high as possible, no reconnect and around month of cheaters ruining experience did not help.
Some changes like dying when sleeping, durability, butchering mushrooms really make you wish they would ask community for opinions so they can see flaws they have missed like kicking newbies in the gut with most of updates by making their lives harder...
How often high/medium progression players sleep? Once they die usually. How often newbies sleep? All the time. Combo that with butchered stat system and you need to hypergrind speed pills or be at mercy of higher progress players at all times because getting max speed in single raid is not so easy anymore and if you try to go shrooms you no longer can fix the drawbacks without sleeping really which you will need to do for quests so once again you are behind on stats while higher progress players will have stockpiles of last few good mushroom types and dozens of speed pills.
Game still can make a comeback but it needs surge of players badly if its meant to be true to its PvPvE nature.
can't rely only on pve either lol, i don't get this whole "make the game pve" or "need pve mode to make the game survive" mentality
Welp, you might be right. HiO is going to be free for a week on Epic at the end of this month. Might see a surge in players, though that really bums me out as I paid for the game.
