Streamed this for the boys in the discord while reading all the dialogue. Everyone had a very delightful time. 10/10 would frog again!

Frog Detective is a game set in an alternate Earth where anthropomorphic animals have formed their own society and explored the world. They've developed interests in science, art, hygiene and even the supernatural. It's not entirely clear how advanced their society (or societies?) is, but the implications make me feel inspired to become a bit of a detective myself and discover their inner workings.

The protagonist of this tale is a grizzled detective with a shady past told through momentary glimpses. Why does his room only have a phone, two lil tables and a photo? does he live in that room? Who are the mysterious figures in the picture? Did the supervisor really go on holiday, or is he hiding something more sinister than the frog can comprehend?

Unfortunately, many of these questions are left unanswered in this break-neck speed detective game. You're tasked with solving the mystery of a ghost on an island and are left to your own devices to communicate with a colourful cast of characters. As another reviewer pointed out, these characters do just stand around with one or two animations here and there.

It's humorous, but I feel like I didn't get to really experience this mysterious island and it's wonderful inhabitants to their fullest capacity. Is it worth the price? I don't know, I got it in a humble bundle.

At the end of the day this game reminds me of old flames and our brief but beautiful memories. During those situations you think it's one of the best moments in your life, but then those moments become memories and you wonder if it was really all worth it in the end. You're not you anymore, you're someone else that has shifted and grown due to these experiences you've briefly become accustomed to and that in itself makes it all worthwhile I guess. Unfortunately change is not always good and we can feel like we're buried underground n a dark cave with no way out. Sometimes we don't even realize we've been buried until it's far too late.

Other times, a helpful person in our life can bring us up and remind us that these memories, these experiences are gone. They're still with us in our hearts, but we're not going to experience them again.

What I'm trying to say is that Frog Detective is like these memories, these moments. It's beautiful, it hints at things unknown and it makes you grow as a person and as a member of society. However, in the grand scheme of things it's nothing but a fleeting smile and the feel of a hand on the small of your back long after the person has walked away. If you're okay with pondering what could have been and are less focused on what *is*, then this game is for you.

Frog Detective makes me want to be a better person.
