How to flip out of a slide trick consistently
I have had this game for a couple of days now, and my biggest trouble is trying to flip out of slides.

I can't seem to do it consistently. I recently learnt from witenoise on YouTube that you can push the sticks horizontally in opposing directions after popping for a ledge/rail and you will turn your feet but I can't work out how to combine this with a fiip out, can anyone help?

P.S: if anyone knows how to do a flip out if you turn into a slide with the triggers also that would be awesome

When you do a noseslide you have push both sticks UP.
When you do a tailslide you have to push both sticks DOWN.
So... Depending on which end of the board you are sliding with, you'll need to release the truck analog and flick the foot analog to the right or left.

EXAMPLE: While doing a tailslide (both analogs DOWN) you'll need to RELEASE the RIGHT ANALOG and FLICK the LEFT ANALOG to the side (left or right) to do a kick or a heelflip.

There's really no secret to it. Just as you would flip it on flat ground.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the response, maybe I'm being a bit thick but why do you push the sticks up or down for a nose/tailslide?

I always push the sticks in opposing horizontal directions (LS: east, RS: west, feet go 90deg anticlockwise; LS: west, RS: east, feet go 90deg clockwise)

Well, you can do it that way, but for a proper looking tail/noseslide you would have to press hard on the sliding end while lifting the other end to a higher degree. Imagine you are actually pulling a nose/tail grind but also rotating your body (front or back side) to attach the board on to the ledge/rail.

I would imagine that the way you are doing ends up looking like a board/lip slide but without the rail under the center of the board?

I hope I've made sense, sorry if it's difficult to understand, English is not my native language, but if you still have any questions feel free to ask!

Ah I see you rotate with triggers (R2/L2) into your slide right? I did that as well but it usually looks nicer if you do it the way that I described - when you let go of the sticks it will automatically pop out and turn 90deg back to the way you were orignally riding. It's in the tutorial under slides or somwthing like that

The advice you gave me about flipping out is good though, it's just using the foot that's not currently pressing the board into the slide

Yeah, but I think that's what's causing your problem when flipping out of slides. If your sticks are pointing horizontally you will need to do a bigger and more complex motion to get then into flip position. Practice it the way I'm telling and I think you will overcome your flip out problem and even make your tricks look smoother. And don't worry, you can still turn the board back to the way you were originally riding. Just do this:

At the very end of the slide (right before falling of the edge) you'll have to do a smooth "shuv it" motion with each stick (in opposite directions, of course) leading your board back to the original stance.

TRUST ME! lol I'll try to record it after work if you are not able to pull it off still, just give me a shout!

peace

Oh, I have to make clear: Everything I'm teaching is to be applied to NOSE and TAIL slides. You don't have to rotate your body when doing BOARD and LIP slides. I've just realized you were talking about the latter while I was talking about the former... Sorry for the confusion! lol

no way Oak...triggered sliding just looks crappy unless it´s a board-/lipslide...

to get a flip out with both sticks, just release them quickly and flick the board with the coresponding foot

you can also correct the boards position somewhat with the sticks afterwards but it takes a lot of pratice

Sorry, didn't understand exactly what you meant. If you just push the analog sticks horizontally like you were doing a board/lipslide, but end up landing a nose/tailslide it's looks fake as hell, because you are not putting enough pressure on the sliding end. It's just looks like some "physics- defiant" move where the center of your board is standing on some invisible rail. You need to turn your body, just a little to pull proper looking nose/tailslides in my experience (with the game and irl)

I personally like it, but that's the bonus of this game is that you can skate it as you want, each has it's own opportunites

These were interesting posts. I didn't realize you could nose/tail slide pushing the sticks opposite directions. I couldn't get straight flips out of this method, I could do varials and shoveits but they were kinda random. I think its cause the the stick controlling the foot on the nose/tail slide is pushed sideways instead of up or down in the "pop" position. When id try to move the foot on the slide into pop position (up or down instead of to the side) id just fall off or shoveit out.

To do a nose or tail slide using the spin triggers you don't even have to press up or down on the sticks. Just roll up ollie and spin, making sure the landing is in the nose or tail slide position.

Nose slides skating regular for example, you can just roll up, ollie, trigger spin, land with nose on ledge and slide across, use trigger spin to come off at the desired angle. If you dont land perfect, dude may slip of the ledge. This is where pressing the up on the left stick to make dude lean into his front foot will better keep him from slipping of the ledge, pressing up makes him lock the nose slide in.
If you press up on both sticks dude will tweak the angle of the board into the nose a little more and apply more pressure. On a rail pressing both sticks up or down will produce an angled slide right between a tail/nose slide and a blunt slide. On a ledge pressing both sticks up or down will do an actuall blunt slide if you jump into blunt slide position. If you jump into nose slide position and press both sticks up you get more angle on your nose slide.

I just did nose, tail and blunt slides for like 20 minutes lol. This game is fun.

You're totally right!

I've made a couple of videos to show the way I do slides, hope we can learn from each other!

Also, I started trying to flip out from board/lip slides and realised how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard it was!
But I think I've figured out a way of doing them consistently!

As your analog sticks are already set to opposite sides (example: LS: < RS: > ) You just need to flick them horizontally to the other side (example: LS: > RS: < )

I found this to be the best way to kick/heelflip out of board/lip slides. It works 100% of the times but sometimes it doesn't look too good. There's examples in the videos! Hope it helps!

On board slide flip out 2. can you explain how you got it to pop out to the right side of the rail please.
hermit Jan 9, 2019 @ 8:44pm
never mind i just got it lol! I had to change the view to the right side of the skater. i didn't know that influenced the pop out direction.
Farsa Jan 10, 2019 @ 4:10am
I don't think changing the view affects the pop out direction, I just do it like the tutorial told me to. pressing the triggers right before popping out. I'll admit it's still a little twitchy, but it works most of the times! : )
