Question about controls
Is it possible to setup a control layout similar to the skate franchise? I may consider getting this.

No. If you want a game similar to skate this isn't the game for you.

You're welcome. Just to clarify slightly.. There is an option just before you load the game (that I don't use) that can change button configuration and lets you assign buttons individually. I'm guessing you could set up anything you like. But I just roll with the default button config' so please don't quote me lol. All flip tricks and slides/grinds are done with just the L and R analogs. I turn with L2 and R2. You can turn with analogs but it's messy and I've gotten used to turning with L2 R2 and I like it. It's worth a buy IMO.

Turning with L2 and R2 is what is putting me off getting this game actually, feels like I'd get more accurate turns and lineups if I get to turn with the analog stick. I obivously don't own the game so I wouldn't know, but that's what I feel at the moment.

You can actually turn with the left stick as long as you don't move it down or it will make you jump. I use the stick to turn around and it's really comfortable when you get used to it to avoid jumping

You can turn with the sticks, both sticks works tighter than one. The triggers help doing blunt slides and are better for holding for a twist after a pop to faster 360s.The sticks represent each foot and it makes sense it being reversed or upside down when riding switch. The control in this game is unreal. I follow through with my tricks to tweak them like how I try to do in real life.

Some more tutorials would be nice since it's almost perfect when you think about how you skate and use each foot. It all comes down to how you'd stand on a board. The guys who are making this are super long time skaters so they spent the time to make some of the best board control feeling game I've ever. ♥♥♥♥ is nuts.

now gives an update, like a news letter or something ever you vacationing wanks.

You can use both L and R analog sticks for turning. But because they're already both used to do tricks it gets messy, well for me anyway. I prefer turning with the triggers. I didn't at first but after 30 hours in I've gotten used to it lol.

skate had far and away the most intuitive control scheme for a skateboarding game. for all the nay-sayers, it's not an insult nor a bad word to suggest an implementation along those lines. however, the flick it system is i think trademarked and i don't know if its actually allowed to be copied in this case. they put a lot of thought and work into these controls and they do feel surprisingly solid and crisp and responsive and had you never played skate at all, this would be the main go-to scheme.
my one complaint is that when flipping your stance around, the controls get flopped backwards. i'd also like to get off the board to set up my placement.

the best thing about this early access is the lack of a point system. i think the game itself would be best left as just an MMO/single player simulation hub based game. like you just pick your area or map, log on, and skate with the other people who are there and try one upping, throw down a game of skate, follow the leader, or just having a total hammer session. NO POINTS. no cheesy objective time trials. just hangs.
