please reverse controlls while riding switch
would feel much more natural for me ... like when i want do do a switch ollie (im goofy) i want to press down with the right stick to jump instead of up, and when doing a fakie ollie i want to move my left stick up instead of down.

This game is early access and they will likely add proper goofy support (probably even mongo pushing). I understand where you're coming from, however I skate regular so I got lucky!

They have proper goofy support. Press select.
I hate that too. Biggest turn off for the game for me so far. Should be left stick=left foot, and right stick = right foot, even when switch. Session really nailed it. I hope they change they add an option to change this

@dropdeaddeity i know that it is early access ;) i think its also with regular when you ride switch ... dont know what you mean with where im coming from :D

@iatbm i know that you switch to goofy by pressing select :) it still feels unnatural to me riding switch

@cpt. you got me. beside that i really like the game. hope there will be a option to change soon ;D

happy skating ya all

I agree, the fact that I cant skate goofy at all because the controls are all wonky really makes me sad. Id spend so much time on this game, but they really need to have a goofy/reg option better than the current one, or something to change controls to a more personalized setting for whoever it is. Also getting irritated that I can't turn around when not moving fluidly. Maybe some off board stuff would be nice just to navigate the map better and set yourself up for spots. Other than that its pretty fun and I like the direction theyre going

Press select, you can absolutely skate goofy.

When you ride switch, it is like you ride nollie, I thinks it is about muscle memory and the foot on the board (talking about the game)

And Fakie is like normal gameplay.

Not a bad idea IMO.

i agree wholeheartedly. i would at least like for an option for this at some point in the future. it feels very counter intuitive right now. im sure a lot of people will disagree, but an option would be nice.

Totally agree with this. Pushing the sticks up to do a switch ollie just feels weird.

I think the idea is that its supposed to be harder to skate switch. The controls are intentionally less intuitive just like standing on your board switch is less intuitive in real life.

yeah, but the basic concept of front foot and back foot dont change when you skate switch in real life

Not necesissarily, especially if the skater practices skating switch. Most pros skate switch very well.

ALSO if you are standing regular and click select it switches stances properly. I think it should autoswitch if you 180 similar to Skate 3, however it doesn't. When I press select I respawn at my checkpoint in goofy stance. My left stick then controls left foot and right stick right foot.

I'm a bit tired so I apologize if I misunderstood the goal of the thread.

Thank you, happy skating!

Mate switch is still more difficult for pros, that's why it's switch.

But skating fackie still feels a lot like skating normal, and switch feels a bit odd. It's no concept of front foot and back foot in this game, it's a concept of your "good and less good" foot I guess. Very skater based, and a wee bit more "hardcore" as a gaming mechanic. I'm sure they will eventually bring the option to swap that. Also probably after a while we'll get used to it.
As a regular skater, if I am skating switch and want to pull my back foot (left leg) towards the tail, I should have to pull down on the left stick (left leg). It only makes sense. A switch kickflip should be pulling the left stick (left leg) back, releasing for pop and flicking the right stick (right leg) to the right. Fakie ollies should be done like nollies, but reversed. Right stick (right leg) UP to pop off the "nose."

Right now, the controls are not really "left stick left leg, right stick right leg," because of the way they work while riding switch. I really hope they add an option to change it as it doesn't feel like an intuitive way to make skating switch more difficult, it just feels like a clunky mechanic and under utilized controls.
