I have the snake in the south and then the pyramid in east and scarab in west, just like it says in the recording, and it doesn't work. I've tried so many different combos and nothing works.

Figured it out by brute forcing it. Solution has almost nothing to do with the recording, unless I'm just a moron.

For OP: here's the solution

scarab northeast, pyramid east, snake south

Solution makes no sense to me, since it says scarab "like the morning sun", there's a sun right next to the northwest position so i assumed it would go there, it says snake waits in the west, so i had immediately put it in the west spot. I don't know. Maybe I just read it wrong or something.

One of the worst puzzle designs I can think of. Really terrible game.

I think it's a kind of puzzle that's been done in many many adventure games xD. I don't see how that one thing could make it a terrible game xD

Thanks for sharing the solution. Just meant getting to the next annoying, hit or miss "mini game".

Nah. After sadclaps pointed out the morning sun thing, that solution does make total sense now. That and I misread the clue about the snake. So far, it's actually a fantastic game.

:awkward:
Simple puzzle, the first you encounter. Relies on reading the journal note of few lines.
If one struggles with matching symbols written positions with star's corners... I'm literally speechless :lunar2019grinningpig:

I am worried by these responses, I'm not great at puzzles but this was pretty clear from the instructions. The sun/moon has an axis next to it, representing the top being light and bottom being dark or night.

Are you literally speechless? really? BTW, how can you be speechless non-literally? And why did you need speech while writing a post?

It's a simple puzzle unless the sun symbol on the left confuses you, like it can many people, since the indication that the sun has anything to do with the right side of the diagram is not very clear. One can think it's the left side only.

I agree it's a simple yet confusing and obtuse puzzle and I refunded the game after that.

And another thing, its says: "as it descends to the underworld from the west".
That's wrong. it descends from the east TO the west, not FROM the west. That's simply wrong English, and another source of confusion.

So why is it on the right side and not the left? If it's because it's supposed to follow the pentagram's lines, then that's also wrong, because the supposed "hunting" snake can't follow a line to the west from its position.

Learn what a compass is. :lunar2019grinningpig:
Knowing it, solving this puzzle won't give you poor excuses of wrong, sources, or whatever.
