Do you need to use the blueprints to make house structures?
So I started having a wider access to building materials. I also have the blueprints to make Alpha Floors and the Walls. Do I need to use these sorts of blueprints to make house structures for people? Or can I just use the wooden beams and panels to make more custom-shaped rooms and structures? Obviously we pretty much have the capability to already do that, I just don't know yet if there's any specific requirements for making homes for people and having them "register" as rooms and homes.

IMO, you have just to assing a bed for a character to set a "house".
Probably the game check the structure in which the bed is to determine the "grade" of the house.

You will need to cut 4x4 and panel lumber on the table saw, planer, etc. Most of the Alpha blueprints need only 4x4s and 1" panels. If you build your squatters a tiny room with an open wall, put in a bed they get the bonus of no longer waking up cold (tent) AND privacy if there are walls between the beds. You can later decorate to bring housing up even more. I have yet to spend enough time in housing to say how to get it past precarious.

To start, I give them 2 frames with 2 ceilings, 5 walls and a bed. They are warm, happy and living in "precarious" conditions.

About warm, IMO its a soup matter, dont house matter...
With the same houses, they keep to be cold if there is no soup in my inventory.

They won't be cold with a bed outside. And preferred objects near their outside beds improves the condition. I had 6 in one enclosed structure, two in another and one in a bed outside. Didn't seem to make much difference.
