FSR steam release when?
nmh 1 crashed for me only after approx. 1,5 hour of playtime, but its still enjoyable as you can save in the nmh motel after every mission. so in my 10 hours of playtime i had around 8 crashes or so with nearly no progress lost everytime it happend. ( my cycle was "side job"->"assasin job"->go to merchant if new stuff was available-> go to gym if possible -> go to motel and save -> crash occurs ->restart game and rinse and repeat// no crashes in main missions or after main missions, so if a player lost progress its entirely their fault as you can save everytime you need to )
Should this happen at this day and age? no, nmh 1 however is a masterpiece regardless and im glad i could buy it on steam. some achievments dont work as the tracker is bugged but i dont care about that.
nmh 2 only crashed once and that was only before i applied the "win 7 compatibility mode"
nmh 2 has also bugged achievments but again, i dont care about those so imo its a good port.
why use msaa?
If you go to "windows display setting -> scaling and layout" -> set scaling to 100% you get a proper native resolution, looks really good on a 4k screen
Most switch ports or older games can be "fixed" by this.
But yeah, you are right regarding broken features. Sadly PC versions dont get the same love and attention as the console versions. I´d also say that GHM is pretty slow in terms of PR/marketing. SotD remastered got an annoucnment trailer last year and there is no news about a release date yet.
However, i´d prefer a nmh1/2 pc port way over a port like Nier Automata, the PC version looks like actual vomit (mods can barely fix that) and runs as good as a loaf of bread in a horse race. I have a 3070, any resolution above 1440p would sometime break my fps straight into the 30s.
Have you been able to fix shadow cascades aswell? you can edit them in some .ini but couldnt find a proper tutorial or guidelines on that.
i doubt that rtx 3070 is too weak, i get ~80 fps on Kingdom come deliverence on ultra settings+official hd texture dlc on 3200x1800 without DLSS (KCD doesnt have it, KCD also looks a lot better than NA)
I had trouble with my 3070 in many games, included Nier, till i got a 3080Ti 12gb tbh. You can try to use the lodmod for the other issues:
https://www.nexusmods.com/nierautomata/mods/165/
Sure, the 3070 is not 4k 60 fps ready for many high end performance games (plage tale, CP2077, etc). For Nier it should be wayy enough to play in higher resolutions.
Elden Ring max settings runs stable 60 fps in 3200x1800 aswell, in AC6 max settings runs also ~85 fps in 3200x1800 and those dont even have DLSS.
Yeah, lodmod includes de .ini i mentioned above. Tweaking the shadow cascades either resulted in crash on startup (not always but often enough) or they didnt apply/made no difference. Sadly i found no solution :(
