Travis Strikes Again - How am I supposed to win Gold Dragon GP late races?

I’m trying everything but it seems harder than it should, I can’t keep up with the opponent in the G1-Final, even while in the 6th gear. Is there a trick?

Start boost is essential. Just after the 1 fades press accelerate to do it. Next, DON'T USE THE INTRO. The RPM meter goes from green to blue to red. It is important that you don't use the nitro until you are already at the last gear, as the nitro will speed you past the blue area of the meter.

If you did the boost, you should be on 2nd gear. At the blue area, hit the clutch button (R) (DO NOT TOUCH THE CLUTCH BUTTON AT ANY OTHER TIME), hold the clutch and QUICKLY go from 2nd to 3rd. The path is semi random each time but look closely on your way to blue to try and determine which path you need to take. You should have enough time as the RPM goes from blue to red to change gear within the blue zone. If you do it right, you'll get the speed boost and the RPM will go back down to green, which you want to happen. Now, once again at blue, and never before, go from 3rd gear to 4th gear for another boost. Let this speed boost finish and then use the nitro. Then just hold accelerate. If you do all this right, and the other racer still beats you and seems to speed up past you as if they are on infinite intro, you need to get a new gear box from the next floor. Hope this helps!
