Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Complete Edition

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Complete Edition

oof
https://steamdb.info/app/961490/graphs/

Basically noone bought the game, only 15 reviews, 39 players peak and there's only 24 threads in the forums.
I've seen terrible indie meme games selling better than this, It looks like people barely even noticed the game at all.
If this was a test for NMH1-2 and 3 ports I think it failed pretty hard.

I know steamdb isn't 100% accurate but it's pretty clear the game went way under the radar...

What do you guys think?

While I can't divulge sales data, I can say that TSA was a standalone project, the sales of which aren't factoring into our decision to support the PC going forward either way (though if you pick up the OST on the side as Temmie did we will love you forever!).

We know TSA's a spin-off, we know that it's a known quantity on Switch, we are aware of the fan reception of the existing release, and we are grounding our expectations realistically in that context.

If anything, TSA is more of an experiment for us at Marvelous Japan to familiarise ourselves with PC publishing (which has largely been handled through Xseed until now). TSA's aim was to create a PC publishing framework for the team here in Japan (if both Marvelous Japan and Xseed can publish to PC competently then there are more titles the Marvelous group can release!), and in that respect it has been a rip-roaring success.

yup, and to be honest i do own a switch but the only reason i didn't get it there was because the framerate was so unstable there in multiplayer, which i plan to beat with my brother since we are both very curious about the story, there was a guy that said that this game was pretty much suda51's thoughts regarding him being a gamer, a game maker and what it's like for him, this could be just him overthinking stuff but it still made me curious.
well the good news is , this supports co-op on pc, with 120 fps and it's very stable - annnd, steam is coming out with that feature to let you play any local co-op game online with ppl through steam - and this is the exact type of game that was designed for. so that's something to keep an eye on, if you wanted co-op

doesn't the new steam co-op feature called "remote play" only work in a local network ?

The game is garbage that's why.

I'm happy to hear this is just the first, in what I hope is many Marvelous Japan titles you may be bringing to PC.

I gladly bought the game, and I look forward to whatever you may bring next.
Please do keep us updated.

Is there any channel (mailing list, social media account) I can follow, to check any possible news?

Also, if you ever have the chance to port to PC your Nintendo DS title Contact, you would make me a very happy guy. :steamhappy:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contact_(video_game)

It's a game that deserves to reach a wider audience, since it's incredibly charming and quirky.
A port, even a quick one, with no bells and whistles, would be most welcome.

Regards

oh heyo ^^ tested out steam remote play together with TSA:NMH and it works pretty dang good ^^b It's surreal playing a local co-op game with somebody not in your room, and watching them take over the pause menu and assort skills xD such a nostalgia trip.

I am really happy to read this positioning of yours Marvelous, it is really mature as a company, congratulations. I sincerely care about the positive public feedback for this game as a fan, both of you Marvelous and Grasshopper, and of course Suda.

I hope for your success here on Steam, and also, of course for more ports here! PC is the main platform of many westerners, so reading this is a relief for us! Thank you for that and for the port!
I really want to see games like Flower, Sun and Rain and No More Heroes here on Steam in the near future, so I was worry about that.

Well, I understand the public reaction to TSA, it's a niche game, a very good niche game, and besides that, this game is a tribute to Kill The Past and Grasshopper in general, as well as being seen by many as an NMH sequel, so it's understandable the audience be confused to play it. Maybe with some more KTP games and NMH here boost sales? hehe

Honestly, good luck and a lot of love from a fan. Ciao

Is this referring to just new games going forward or other back catalog?
