Best Settings For 4K / 1440p - with details
I've spent hours analyzing the best settings possible for the game, (I have the time trainer installed that removes the time limit and I've spent a lot of time exploring the most demanding areas of the demo)

Here are the best settings for 4K or 1440p. You want the best image quality with the fewest FPS drops and the most stable frame rate.

Image Quality: 100% (you can put it down to 80% or 70% instead of lowering the settings below if you need extra FPS)

Frame Rate: 60

V-Sync: On

Anti-aliasing: TAA [almost the same as FXAA+TAA but higher FPS]

Texture Quality: High (8 GB) [textures are very important]

Texture Filter Quality High (ANISO x16) [best image quality]

Mesh Quality: Max [putting this to max does not drop your FPS and gives a better image]

Shadow Quality : Low/Medium [It's useless to put it higher as it drops your FPS if you do so and doesn't bring much more to the table]

Shadow Cache: On [Always ON, increases your FPS significantly]

Contact Shadows: ON [doesn't drop your FPS that much]

Screen Space Reflections: OFF [Putting it ON will drop your FPS significantly, you will lose as high as 25 fps, and it doesn't do much contrary of what the in game image suggests]

Subsurface Scattering: OFF [Saves you around 5 FPS and it does almost nothing anyways]

Volumetric Lighting Quality: Low [putting it higher will drop your FPS without bringing much more, putting it at OFF will gives you more FPS but will completely remove some important lighting effects]

Particle Lightning Quality: High [won't drop your FPS]

Ambient Occlusion: OFF [will save you a lot of FPS]

Bloom: OFF [Saves you FPS and it's pretty useless]

Lens Flare: OFF [Saves you FPS]

Motion Blur: OFF [Saves you FPS]

Depth of Field: OFF [it looks better]

Lens Distortion: ON (+chromatic abberation)

Film Noise: ON [it depends on your taste, I believe the image looks better]

THX :) On my rig:
RX 570 8GB
i5 3570k stock
8GB 1600mhz

With 90% image at 4K, AA off, I can play on 50/60+.

On my rig, I get constant 100/120 fps with 2080 gforce, with everything on max and 200% graphics quality

1080p 200%? or 1440p 200%?

I would recommend

I would recommend putting AA on at TAA and you can lower the 90% to 70% or 80% instead. Anti-Aliasing at TAA makes a good difference in image quality, and losing 10% to 20% won't do much.

iMac Pro running Windows 10 with the latest AMD drivers. 5K screen, 16GB Vega64. I was getting 60fps with a few dips to 59 running the game at 3200x with the following settings:

- Image quality at 80%

- VSync on

Anti-aliasing: FXAA and SMAA don't seem to make much of a difference to the FPS nor image quality. TAA looks blurry like a painting. Leon's hair looks like fuzzy wool unless you decide to use TAA, although I found Lara's hair in Rise of the Tomb Raider to be the same.

Texture Quality: High (8 GB)

Texture Filter Quality High (ANISO x8)

Mesh Quality: High

Shadow Quality : Medium

Shadow Cache: On. Leave this on!! Turning it off impacts the FPS drastically.

Contact Shadows: On

Screen Space Reflections: On

Subsurface Scattering: Off. Saves a few FPS, and it doesn't change the quality of the image much.

Volumetric Lighting Quality: Medium

Particle Lightning Quality: High

Ambient Occlusion: SSAO

Bloom: On

Lens Flare: On

Motion Blur: Off.

Depth of Field: On. Depending on your tastes, you might prefer to leave it off. I find it's a little wonky, but looks good when it works.

Lens Distortion: Off. I didn't notice this impacting how the game looks all that much.

Film Noise: Off

Verdict: The game looks great! Capcom has taken design elements from RE:7 and applied them well to this remake. I appreciated the accompanying images in the settings options that show how the graphics change depending on your selection.

Why are you on 1440p instead of 4k DSR? :machine_lifeform:
