Playing tutorial, can't blink

I'm at the part of the tutorial where I'm being asked to blink. I'm hitting the blink key, and have even changed the keybinding numerous times to see if this helps, but no matter what whatever the hell is supposed to happen when you blink isn't happening.

What am I doing wrong? This seems like it should be pretty straight forward but it's clearly not. I read you have to click the blink button, and then left click to actually blink. Not working. Nothing is working.

Very strange, when I alt-tabbed to come here and post this thread, and then alt tabbed back in to the game the game was no longer full screen it was windowed. The blink orb then showed up and I was able to blink. What? This must be some kind of bug.
