LOL
i enjoy pred. but there is quite a bit of room for improvement. i don't think it will ever be paragon but i also don't think it needs to be.
for starters they should already have all the skins in the game that epic had released. i would like to use the skins i had been using in paragon already. that is an easy thing to do that would make me spend money on the game.
on the other hand project legacy will be free and have all thoes skins be earn-able in game.
pred is in an okish spot but they need to be pumping out content and fixes way faster then they have been. we will see how the game lives with the winter battle pass but im just enjoing it for what it is now.
Not excited
Too early, not enough detail, looks like yet another example of players thinking they are expert game designers when they do not know enough to actually design something with some chance of success
One video even stated there would be no decks in Legacy and the designer considers cards to just be items
I think alot of people felt the same so any of iterations of revival and rebirth have had people interested.
Everyone has their own design and I don't think anyone will ever perfectly match what the original Dev. Had in mind but we can try.
I've been enjoying pred quite a bit..I feel like it's been the closest thing since. Project legacy looks good so far. I'm not holding my breath for it but I like the project design of making Paragon a forever thing. Open source is the Anti abandonware and I'm all here for it.
A couple of things to note in this thread so far:
- Project Legacy isn't an example of game design. It is the original Paragon code, at least on the client-side. The server side did need to be rebuilt and altered to bypass Epic services.
- Referring to the updated card system as an "item shop" was a mistake on my part. It is perhaps better to imagine the currently implemented version as a "superdeck." None of the mechanics were changed.
All I want it's to punish bad players (afk players) and come back of best skin for Countess - White/Red (Challenger) skin. That's all.
I don't need Project Legacy Paragon.
Might easily play legacy and pred side by side
We do have access to the other maps - the Tutorial map, Monolith, and even accessibility for those who want to try importing custom maps (and gamemodes). Those options will be enabled in custom games and private servers. If there is significant demand for a specific map to be supported in the official queues, then that can be arranged.
It's an illegally acquired copy of a build before OG Paragon was shot down, with "reverse engineering" they have or want to create an older copy of Paragon, basically before the bad patches started.
You have to be clear that these are not disclosed 3D assets that you are allowed to work with etc...
So it's questionable how legal it is to play it on private, non-public servers and without an official launcher.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong
