Climbing the fence on Steam Deck

Playing through in chronological order on the steam deck, and I've found myself stuck trying to climb the fence to snowball fight with the other children.

It's telling me to raise the controller, as you would with a ps4 controller, but I can't figure out how to do that with the Deck.

Anyone able to give any advice?
