For those who can't get DSR to work on 1080p monitors
So I've been trying to make DSR (dynamic super resolution) work on Beyond Two Souls by attempting to select a higher resolution than my native 1080p res, only to be met with the disappointment of not having access to higher res via the game's video options.

(For those who don't understand, DSR allows you to use a higher res than your native monitor resolution and scales it down to your screen ratio, in order to achieve higher detail and no jagged edges without hindering much of your game's performance. In many cases much better than using any AA at all.)

I also realized that this game does not have a conventional config file anywhere. Instead, it uses an encrypted file you can't mess with unless you find a way to decrypt it, edit and restore it to it's original form.

The only way I was able to get DSR to work on my game, was to first change the resolution on my Window's desktop settings to whatever (1440p or 4k), then run the game again and go into it's option settings where you'll notice the higher res options will appear for you to pick, this time around.

Once I've selected 4k res and applied it, I minimized the game screen and went back to my Window's screen settings and put that back to its native form (for example 1080p) and made sure to correct my monitor's hz as well, as it drops down the higher the resolution I choose. For example, mine is 165hz, but upon going above 1440p, it automatically changed it to 120hz.

After this, just play the game as usual with clean picture quality. The only down side... You'll have to do this each time you run the game, if you want DSR bad enough. :(

I hate that they didn't allow for people to edit a normal config file. But I understand this was merely a console port.

Its also too bad this game's mechanics is stuck at 60fps max. Would be nice if it were possible to unlock fps without causing game crashes.

Anyways, thought I'd share this in case anyone finds themselves in the same boat I was in about using DSR.:UT2004shield:

Thanks, so just exactly as with Unity games (those work in full windowed, not full screen exclusive mode so... these may be the same)... Same goes to hard Rain and Detroit...

yeah very unfortunate, as I like using it in place of anti-aliasing. :[
