Duo and Steam Remote Play

I bought this game on Steam and I want to play it with my friend. I'm having trouble understanding how Steam Remote Play works.

We preferably want to do Duo mode but we don't know how to make the game detect my friend's keyboard and mouse. When I stream it, it says we're sharing my mouse and keyboard.

The alternative I had in mind would be to just to do Solo and I control Aiden and they control the girl.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

For steam remote play, the person who uses their own keyboard doesn't work. They need to have a controller.
