i went to the steamapps\common\beyondtwosouls folder and deleted all the idm/idx and dll files and used steam to verify files again and it worked!! was worried it was broken but now i'm chronological!!!
No it's the opposite. The original (non chronological) version starts with the experiment scene while the remixed (chronological) version starts with an earlier childhood scene at home. You have either mixed that up or the person that made the videos that you have seen has mixed them up.
So if you start with the experiment scene, then you play the original cinematic (non-chronological) order of the scenes.
Yeah I can only suggest people to play through it on the original version first as it was intended to be. The remixed version was only later added as people wished for the possibility to play through the story in chronological order, however it completely changes how the story is told and reveals way too much information too early. This option should only be used on a consecutive playthrough in my opinion.
