Hope you will enjoy the game anyway!
It was the part where the dude is on the floor in front of you, cut in half, my eyes weren't looking at the floor at the time the dialog starts so I was spinning around looking all over.
Also there is a section of the game with a large giant walking in the distance and they clearly tried to make a sound effect for its steps. It was completely immersion breaking that this sound effect did not have any bass at all going to my sub.
I know sound design and allowing your software to utilize surround sound and the LFE dedicated sub frequency channel is relegated to low priority and treated with total disregard these days, and that's such a waste.
God of war on ps4 set the highest bar for sound (play the world serpent scene and prepair to be blown away) and I wish every developer would at least try and support those of us out there who bother to play games on a Surround sound receiver capable of 5.1.4 Atmos...
It's really sad all everyone seems to ever use are headphones or sound bars these days. :(
Hello!
You make a lot of good points and we totally agree that sound is a very important component in games. Especially in a game like Apsulov.
Unfortunately we were not in charge of the console porting, and the studio who was just completely ignored the problem to get 3d sounds to work, even after we had pointed it out. We're very sorry about that.
In the PC version we are using a binaural plugin to get the 3d effect. That makes it totally more immersive.
Thanks for clarifying your thoughts and reaching out to us!
