Compass puzzle
I can't seem to get the compass puzzle (in the apple tree world) to work. No matter how many times I rotate the thingo in either direction, the pieces won't line up. Is there some trick to it, or do I need to spin the thingo more than 500 times?

You shouldn't have to rotate it more than a few times - the red line won't line up perfectly, from what I recall, but if it's close enough the game will accept it.

Thanks, I'll try yet again.

Did you get this to work? I can get it pretty close, but the game never recognizes it :( I have also tried spinning well more than 50-100 times

The closest I get so far is at 35 turns, but it's not triggering.

Well I broke down and googled it, so figured I would post the answer here for others: I was turning clockwise. But the solution was to turn COUNTER-CLOCKWISE about 3.5 times.

I too, had trouble with this puzzle. I got into a groove and started spinning it wildly. It never gave me the green check but I was able to move onto the next step. If I remember right it was the kamikaze plane game.

Hello plaase help, I started to play this game again for a second time and decided to enter the key number of the oven first instead and I lost option to finish the compass...and I can't go back where it start of the game either

So now I am completely stuck without option to take any further items as packages and apples.

Thank you, Sahara! I came looking for a solution, and yours worked perfectly! I can finally get past this puzzle! Fantastic game!

I tried rotating many times in both directions and never got it to work. I then did what Seahorse727 did and brute-forced the code for the oven puzzle which breaks the game. You get the apple, but loose the compass piece out of inventory and the compass puzzle no longer has a hotspot. You can use the apple to get the coin for the post office if you collected the others already, which puts an arrow in the window but nothing else seems to happen. I guess I'll have to start again.

So far this is the worst puzzle in the game. It's easy to see what you need to do to solve it, but the mechanics of achieving it are absolutely terrible design. Couple that with the fact that they lines just won't line up, and it won't "solve" no matter how close I get makes it just suck.

you just have to release it when it is close enough.

Yeah...it is a bit misleading. When you rotate it, it NEVER seems to line up right...HOWEVER, when you get it close enough and let go, the game lines it up automatically and releases the puzzle. Which isn't very intuitive.

Didn't get it too, just cracked safe - took less time to check all combinations then to understand "puzzle".

I disagree. If you are turning clockwise, no matter how close you get it, the game will never line it up automatically. Even at 35 turns clockwise, it was pretty damn close, but the game didn't recognize it. It has to be turned counter-clockwise, and THEN the game will accept "pretty close."
