Well I'm looking forward to playing it. :)
Another idea would be to have some way to combine magic powers on the blades and hilt of the swords individually in different ways to enhance the effects. of spells/ enchantments even more.
As well as adding magical gems and charms to hilts. That would be super cool.
Thanks for your ideas :)
Yes, we understand, but it is necessary to create a completely new mechanics and it is quite difficult, perhaps later after the release of the game. And we already have in mind what the next update will do after the game/
- Weapons other than swords. If we're a Blacksmith we should also be making things such as Axes, Lances, Spears, Thrown weapons, Pikes, Maces, Flails, Morningstars, Halberds, Knives, Armors, etc.
- Something other than a cross guard, as only a small portion of swords actually used cross guards
- Different types of swords, which kind of goes hand-in-hand with more weapons to craft.
- Realism mode that puts massive penalties on the player for making weapons in ludicrous shapes that would lack function and/or real durability
I'll dump more here once there's more info out regarding the game.
Wait until next week and you can try everything yourself. There have already been a lot of requests for different types of weapons and armor, so far it will be quite difficult to do, but it is possible in the future. We will actively support the game until full release, but it all depends on the success of the game, how much we will plan for further content. Thanks for the ideas.
The entire Draft navigation is confusing. Add buttons on the left in a vertical menu to navigate between cart, map, design, etc., rather than having them randomly placed on each page. This way, you can easily navigate between the pages. On the design page, it's unclear what some of the buttons do; perhaps rename "Add" to "Add Material" and remove the Back and Cart buttons in favor of the vertical left menu.
Add a way to see how much money you have. Or make it easier to find, because I don't see that option anywhere. Maybe add it to the Draft screen when you're viewing items to buy or viewing your cart.
Don't automatically place the ingot/sword on the anvil when the tongs come into contact with it. Instead, rely only on pressing E. Right now, it's difficult to reliably pick the blade up when you need to re-heat it as it often just puts it back on the anvil automatically. Same for the forge.
Add an option to use left-click instead of, or in addition to, pressing "E".
Make it possible to place tools on the stool next to the anvil by pressing E on it. It's too difficult to lose your tools due to how dark everything is, so being able to put them somewhere reliably would be nice. Could also maybe add a small glow to the tools when they're on the floor so you can find them easier.
Have pressing "E" on the forge with an ingot/blade place the ingot/blade into the forge, rather than dropping it in. The collision often makes the blade fly out of the forge or get stuck.
Make the thermometer work by simply standing in front of the forge, rather than finding the perfect angle. It can be time-consuming to get the thermometer positioned just right to read the temperature, to the point where your ingot/blade may overheat.
Hammering the blade on an anvil, it can sometimes be unclear whether you've hammered a section enough. Perhaps add some sort of glow or indicator to each section that has been hammered completely into shape so you know when the blade is finished.
At the compiling stand, make it clearer what you're supposed to do in order to initiate building the sword. It took me quite a while to figure out I was supposed to click on the handguard in order to start the compilation process.
Disable collision between the player and the tools. It's way too easy to set a tool down too close to your character and then get stuck in it. Sometimes the tool will even throw you across the room.
The "tips" in the tutorial often overlap each other, making them impossible to read. Pressing "G" doesn't always get rid of them, either, and they prevent the player from interacting with things. More of a bug report, really.
Then, some suggestion:
1) Really nice the idea to reset the player position, but maybe it's necessary also to reset the items positions (I lost a guard once, and I had to reset the level);
1b) add the possibility to buy just some parts (i.e. the pieces of the guard);
2) Something to improve the smiting phase (already suggested, but really, it's hard to understand which part is done and which not, expecially for complicate shapes)
3) Separate the command "use tool" and "pick-up tool" (i.e. left click vs. E), including the thongs;
4) Add the possibility to upgrade the workshop (i.e. adding a static thermometer to the furnace, or improving it's thermal behaviour)
4b) and/or stat points for the player for slowing down the meters or improving the bargain ability (rise prices)
4c) and or add shop boy to help with the tasks (i.e. sell items) with a lower quality then the player for the late game
5) brightness: I had to raise both the gamma and the brightness to see something. Add a window to the workshop please
6) Estimation of the venue for a finished item
7) Prevent the iron bar to move away while exiting smithy (it can fly quite far away)
Thanks
Allow customers to just come in and browse our shop, or present more than 1 option.
More weapon designs, etc
buy a different building, allow us to place our own furnace and such,
that may speed things up
