Bronze forging problems

I seem to be running into an issue with forging bronze, not only does it cool extremely quickly on my anvil, but I seem to need more hits to accomplish forging. No matter how I try I can't get a good forge on bronze, I'm a step below master forge and still having problems with this metal. Any way to fix this? is it a bug?

If you haven't taken a look at the Metals section in the pause menu, you can see the min/max forging ranges. Bronze has a smaller gap compared to most other metals, which means less time to forge it before it gets too cold (all metals heat up/cool at the same rate).
