once you get the ingot put coal in smelter, then grab some tongs, but ingot in, when it glows, put it on anvil using tongs, then whack it with hammer, repeat until done, take sword over to grinder, grind it, then assemble the hilt at the hilt station
that should be enough for you to skip tutorial
Ive had customers ask for damascus and still buy plain iron weapons. It seems that the only time i dont have anything for them to buy is when they want i higher quality weapon made with something better than iron. I have had customers ask for cheap weapons with magic and have sold them plain iron weapons but when they ask for good weapons with magic i dont have anything to sell them because i dont have anything made with something better than iron.
Very much hoping the game fixes its broken economy and sales system soon as it is currently unplayable.
Did they ask for a cheap sword with damascus or a decent sword with damascus? That appears to be the difference as far as i have noticed so far. When they ask for a decent blade, i cant sell them one(i guess iron is cheap). When they ask for a cheap blade, i can sell them a regular iron sword.
That's really odd, I've never had a customer offer so little for a sword. Maybe you overheated the ingot? That seems to have the biggest negative impact on the sell price. I always pull my ingots out about 20 degrees below the maximum temperature just to be safe. Another way to tell if you might have overheated the sword is if the hammering meter in the upper left says "Done" all across the board but the blade still looks like it isn't finished. Also you can check the little box that pops up when you toss a sword on the wall to sell. One of the items in the list is the heating quality.
As Heaven Brotherhood said you need a level 2 smelter to be able to work with iron, which can be bought from the town, in the "Interior" section. I would suggest getting an Alchemy Table first however, as even bronze Damascus blades sell for a pretty decent chunk of change (right around 400 gold) and will help you get the level 2 smelter a bit faster. Oh and don't forget to get the level 2 thermometer as well so you don't overheat your iron!
Hope all this helps. Happy forging!
If you toss an iron ingot into the level 1 forge it'll heat up but you won't actually be able to work with it as it won't get hot enough to become malleable, so really nothing happens. Just cool off the ingot in the water barrel, then either get a level 2 forge or get some bronze to work with instead.
Happy forging!
Yeah I'm really necroing a thread, but I'm frustrated at seeing that kind of comment.
first off, my game is running smooth as butter surprisingly at easily a good 60 fps.
And yet I spend the gold
Ingots don't appear
and instead I just am left with frustration.
I don't much appreciate it.
