Game will not launch

Hi, just bought the game yesterday and cannot play it; it allows me to change and save configurations but that's it. I verified the game cache, updated drivers, installed all windows updates and rebooted, deleted the game and reinstalled.... still doesn't work.

A friend suggested my monitor might be the problem ( 1280 x 1024) but this has never been an issue with any other games. Emailed the developer but haven't heard anything back so far

Anyone have any ideas?

The resolution goes to 1280x960 max.

What do you mean by that?
The configuration window shows 1280 x 1024 in the resolution options for me.

No, it does`nt. The game configuration is 1280x960 max. If you are trying to run it in a higher setting, you`re doing it wrong. Lower the resolution in the game configuration, and make sure your computer is set to the same resolution as the game.

Sorry but that doesn't make any sense to me. Configuration setting should be set to the same resolution as the monitor.

By the way the monitor can't be the problem as I have a 1920x1080 monitor now... changed the settings to 1920x1080 and the game still doesn't work :(

Maybe the game just isn't compatible with AMD Radeon HD 6670

Yup it's the video card, obviously not good enough even though it's not really that old. Tested the game on someone else's computer with a later model video card (AMD Radeon HD 7700) and it works on there

Go to game library, right click on the game. Click configure. Select desired res. Click save and quit. Go to start, go to control panel. Click adjust resolution. Set computer res to the same as game. Now it will work. Probably NOT the video card at all. I have played this game with a 4550 ATI, no problem. The game has 1280x960 max. If the game res and computer res do not match, it will not work.

Game library on steam, NOT computer library. Right at top of this page. Click library, right click game, click configure. The configure window will come up. Be sure to save and note changes made.

"The game has 1280x960 max" - only for your specific hardware setup. The game offers configuration settings depending on your monitor resolution. Out of interest, what is the resolution of your monitor please?

When I tested it on the other computer we set it to 1280x1024 (same as the monitor) and it worked. You should not be having to adjust your monitor to match the game IMO.

So I'm 99% sure it's the graphics card, not the game settings.

I have a Planar 84 in. 3840x2160. Also a projector and 200 in. screen. My processor needs no video card, all settings highest. My computer is custom built, by me.

Previos monitor was a 42 in lcd TV, 1080.

Oh OK that is some impressive screen then. By the way, I did try your suggestion of setting the monitor resolution and the game settings to 1280x960 - still no luck ;)

Try 1024x768 on computer and game. Yes, the Planar is impressive, but also a pain. Hard to move and hang. The full res is never realised. I actually like the projector better. Hope you get it sorted. The game is alot of fun, esp. in multiplayer!

Just an update: took my computer into a supplies/servicing store and they tested a new card - game still did not run. The technician suggested reinstall of windows but this is too tedious for me at the moment. Will probably get a better computer in a few months (current one is 4-5 years old) and then I'll be able to play the game.

I have my video settings set at 1680 x 1050 and works great. I have a ATI HD 5850 however. It seems to me that you have to have either a card that is incompatible, bad drivers, or some other issue.
