Also, one thing that Project Cars did f-uc-k up is that while making the game controller friendly, they actually didn't make it enough controller friendly like you see in Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport. Forza is the pinnacle of casual racing and will be the king forever.
As a just a racing game it is a kid of driveclub and NFS Shift.
Really good core of a game but buggy, happily no bugs are really game breaking.
Sure there are some minor bugs, but are you experiencing a bug that is not allowing you to play/progress?
Dont defend this pile of crap it is broken and deep down you know it.
Broken means I cannot play it. It's not "broken" for me. I can play it and have been playing it. I have run into bugs (like my car's livery changing during a championship event) but nothing that has prevented me from playing.
Oh? That's your standard, is it? "The game is fine, because it boots and runs"
Let's just ignore the fact that Road A, GT-A, Hypercar and GT-Open haven't even received First Fix game balance. Or the fact that some upgrades which you can purchase never apply to the car, because they're missing from the game's data. Or the numerous issues with the AI. Or the fact some of the challenges in Career Mode can't even be completely because your lap is invalidated before the race starts.
Let alone the way you can subvert the entire class system. That upgrades only seem to have a 50/50 chance of actually applying to the car, and that can be forced to stay on the car after you unequip them, allowing you to bring an overpowered car from the class above into the class below.
Minor issues, like you say. Anybody who expects such things as game balance is clearly irrational and has unrealistic expectations for a $130 Triple-A title. Shame on them.
Do you know fore sure they intend to make changes in this space or are you 'assuming' they will make adjustments there?
There's races you literally can't complete because the game is broken, The HUD randomly disappears. There's times when mods don't add to a car's PIR, so you can tune them up to max and still race them in lower classes, there's graphics settings which do absolutely nothing.
This game is completely broken.
The HUD doesn't randomly disappear. People don't know there are different HUD modes and are hitting the default Cycle HUD option without realizing it.
Yes, there are some "events" that cannot be completed. However, you don't "need" to complete "every" event to move forward.
There are mods to real life cars that don't always "make a car faster". I'm not sure what mods you are referring to but being specific would help.
Are *you* happy with classes where some cars are seconds a lap faster than others? Have you even *driven* Hypercar or GT-Open with upgrades yet? I somehow doubt it.
Forced Induction upgrades are very easy to spot. Because Forced Induction systems make a noise and noticably effect a car's Torque Curve. Especially torwards the middle of the powerband. Adding more than 100 horsepower should also create a noticable effect on a car's top speed, acceleration and laptimes. And yet applying a Stage 1 turbo did none of the above. I restarted the game 3 times from desktop, took the upgrade off and put it on again, nothing.
Another missing upgrade is the Tunable Differential. You can buy one, but again I tried the same steps and it never appeared in the tuning screen.
A really funny example of how broken this game is, is the Lotus Evija.
Installing the tyre upgrades actually reduces the car's Mechanical Grip and Lateral G quite noticably. It also slows the car's laptime around the track I was testing(Portimao Full) by a second and a half.
