Bland sound

I'm not sure if i've done something wrong, but the sound in this game seems so flat and bland. Is that just me?

Not just you. The sound mixing is very odd. Like, I get that car exhaust should sound somewhat muffled while in helmet cam, but come on, crank that sound to 11.

sounds good on my rig. I have 2 12" woofers that mirror my VR audio. What kind of weak ass computer speakers do you have?

I'm using RIG 800HD headphones. They aren't weak at all and I get great sound from every other game. If you are getting good sound, are you using a view outside the car?
I'm in VR, so its cockpit all the way.

Make sure to check the "Dynamic Range" option in the Sound settings. For me it defaulted to TV which sounded terrible (and I'm using headphones anyway).

It has alot to do with your view choice as well, so your position relative to the engine. It has a pretty poor compressed or muffled sound in the cockpit. That was really disappointing to me as there are alot of great in car sounds in other racers. However any external view has some of the best sounds I've ever heard in a racing game, surround sound or through headphones. Its important to play with your volume knob in this one lol and of course the usual sound sliders to make certain sound aspects louder or softer than others.
Sound is a big deal for me in racing games so I've got it playing through a 7.1 system with bass shakers. Its easily the best change ive made to giving me a better experience in games. Everything is really crisp, ballsy and separated. Dont listen to the guys putting down the sound, it's simply not true as long as you havent rigged your old am radio for a speaker.
