How do you use episode coins?

I think I understand their implied value. Unlocking past memories = more owner xp = more mileage out of FP bottles as you power farm.

I don't understand where and how you're meant to use them though. Anyone out there able to help?

In the event shop, episode coin exchange tab
Edit: above solution to exchange them with VIP coin
To use episode coins just go directly to Memories and go to Event Memories, pick which past episode you'd like to unlock

Still don't see it. I don't get it. How many coins do you need to unlock a memory? It is still completely opaque right now.

20 per episode. can only be used on unlockable old episodes started from the very first event

This also confused me for quite some time. You have to go back in the list several times. The most recent event memories cannot be unlocked. Go back further in the list until you find those that can be unlocked.

Ah. I finally see. No telling from the user interface what episodes are eligible for unlocking and when other episodes become eligible for unlocking or when.

I believe the most recent unlockable events are open in Magical Venus event. You can see it in the bottom most part.

From there backward events should be unlockable, but some are still locked.
Just scroll backward to your heart content.
