A sequel to this game will put off a lot of people. Especially whales and other long-time players.

Maybe the plan is to rebrand this game to just "Venus Vacation" since it's barely even DOA anymore. Maybe KT is assuming the DOA girls are not needed any longer since they added a ton of OCs and people kept playing. So they'll remove everything DOA-related and make this an OC-only series, keeping just Misaki from the original roster as the new main character since she was created for this game and technically doesn't count as a DOA character.

At the same time they'll reveal the DOA reboot which will strictly be a fighting series from here on, no fanservice spinoffs.

This all sounds too far-fetched to be true. Or does it? Eh, probably. Maybe not.

Eagerly hoping it's a single player game with all of VV's content and proper game modes... ah, who am I kidding? That's never going to happen now that KT has tasted the sweet, tender flesh of whales.

While I think a companion mobile game version remains the most likely announcement, the other thing I think could be in the works is a resurrection of the long abandoned VR mode project. That'd be a pretty good fit for the language used in the twitter posts.

I've also seen some speculation that this may not be an official Dead or Alive game and not even include official DoA characters. While I think that would disappoint a lot of fans and is unlikely overall, there is a tantalizing upside to that possibility: They could take the game in a naughtier direction if they no longer have to protect the DoA brand as a somewhat mainstream fighting game. It would also be the easiest way to separate themselves from Marie Rose, who makes everything riskier when deciding how far they can push things. Kanna would still be around, but as a supernatural creature they could age her appearance with a snap of their fingers. Or just replace her with an older sibling. Whereas the Venus Vacation devs probably don't have the freedom to make such decisions regarding Marie.

But again, I don't think that's actually happening, it'd just be an interesting development if it did. I'm expecting phone game crap.
