Why is this game ban in America yet advertised on here?

So I don't understand Koei Techmo. They ban this game, but I, an American, have to buy a vpn, and do a workaround to get it?

Why not make this game an AO title on pc so people who are dumb and want to play this game could download it normally?

Same here in Kazakhstan, they literally have translated banner for Reika, but steam page is region locked. wtf?

I was confused as well when I saw this game pop-up upon starting steam as an ad with other games. Click on details wondering what this was as all I could make out was "venus vacation" on the title, and get greeted to being region locked.

What's the point if only AS is accessed to this? Had to use startpage search to get access to the community hub to figure out what this was.

I think there may be some new people working on the game with Reika's release who aren't aware of how everything is set up re: regions. Either that or there's so many people circumventing the region lock that Steam's algorithm is recommending it to people in the same region with similar account profiles regardless.

You don't need to buy a VPN. You get a good free one or get one with a free trial, download the game once, then cancel and uninstall the VPN. Done. The game stays part of your account once installed, so you won't have to do this again if you need to re-download it or install it on a different computer.

An easily circumvented region lock is the best of all worlds for this game, and nobody thinking straight should want it to be otherwise. They would not have designed the game the same way if they had a Western audience in mind from the start, and it would influence future content if they unlocked it now. Instead we are getting the most risque version of the game we can hope to get, with a full official English translation, and all we have to do is brush aside a flimsy curtain separating the seedy foreign games from the mainstream games at the front of the store.

Leave the curtain alone. The curtain is our friend. I wish all my games had a magic curtain that made the content better.

It was a test, underage shouldn't be capable to understand how VPN works. It is a game for mature audience, hence the paid route need no guardian or whatsoever parental.
I guess I can call myself underage since I don't fully grasp VPN

we know but they don't and their only access to what we want is from those journalists who cry about anything. remember, they don't put people who make games into PR and social managers because devs are too busy doing their job to see what people want and those in charge of social media have their biases and they will only show them the data they want. guess who applies to those positions, not one of you because no one want a low paying job and if you are going to join any gaming studio, you want to be part of the team who makes those games not looking at social media and filter out any comment.

Because SEA gamers pay for microtransactions more and complain about nudity less than any other region, so it's only natural this would be the primary target for a swimsuit gacha game.

Every other region has some combination of hostility against nudity, growing hostility against lootbox mechanics, or not enough whales to make deploying a server near it worthwhile.

KT could spend the tme and money trying to figure out which countries outside of SEA are worth pursuing... or they could let you spend the time and/or money to figure out how to get around the region lock.
