It's gooooood to be back! Some of you may have heard rumors going around regarding the future of Crystal Maidens. This post will hopefully answer your questions.

The Crystal Maidens team was unfortunately let go for valid financial reasons months ago. I hope you'll all be happy to know that every member of the old team has found a new home in various companies throughout Montreal. However, as a result of that decision, Mindgeek was left with no choice but to sunset the game.

Harley, Rouncat and Speeder saw the interest people still had in the game and we offered Mindgeek to run the game on our own time. They agreed and after some back and forth over the details, I am now finally in a position to announce that Crystal Maidens WILL be back!

The new Crystal Maidens team is now mostly in charge of every development and release decision as well as responsible for the cost of servers, art, writing and everything else in between. As such, we have made the very important decision to re-release the game in a clean state. What this means:
- Everyone will start from scratch (think of it like a new season in an ARPG)
- A set number of maidens will be available at the start.
- A set number of items will be available at the start.
- All features that have been released over the years will be available immediately (World Boss, Boss Campaign, Crafting, Masteries, etc)
- Events will be released on a regular schedule once again. This is where a lot of the existing content from the original CM will be available.

This was a difficult decision to make, but it will guarantee our ability to release content for years to come and allow us to add actually NEW content sporadically, whenever we can afford to do so.

Currently, we are trying to gather the assets and code necessary to run the game on our own servers. This is a lengthy process. We plan to change the server structure to match the expected player base which will likely help make the game run a lot smoother.

We plan to be back on Nutaku, Steam and Android. It is possible we may no longer support the downloadable client. This is to be determined still.

While in a perfect world, we'd love to be live once again around Christmas, there are no guarantees since we now only have 1 dev using his spare time to get the entire game up and running again. As we move closer to an official release date, we'll keep everyone informed!

We sincerely hope you'll join us on this new adventure with the rebranded Crystal Maidens: Unleashed! A project that once was a mainstream SFW game...that turned into a casual NSFW game...that turned into a midcore RPG people have grown to love. Roundcat, Speeder and Harley are very excited to bring this game back to you. We plan to make use of our dedicated community to work on improvements that YOU want to see in the game and hopefully keep going for years!

- Switching presets may unequip certain items. This will be fixed in the next build release.
- Using Fight My Team on the PvP defense tab will cause you to be unable to make team changes for your def team until you restart the game.
- Initial game loading time is longer than we'd like. This is being worked on, but in game load times should be completely normal.

A new character event featuring Hikaru is now live! Complete objectives and help the community with the global objective to earn exclusive rewards.

A crafting event will run alongside the character event. A new maiden joins the fight! Complete levels and collect ingredients to craft exclusive items and shards! Due to a late release this week, there will be no chunk blockers in this event.

The character event ends on June 11th.

A new World Boss feature is now live! Every Friday for a period of 72 hours a world boss will spawn. Compete against other users to deal the most damage to it and earn rewards.

Each boss has its own twist so you will need to use very different maidens each time!

This feature will need tweaking for Boss HP and difficulty as well as boss variety later on. Make sure to give us your feedback on discord.

We have added quick clear tickets to the game. Each user will get 10 free quick clear tickets per day. These can be used to clear crafting event levels, campaign levels for which you’ve completed the challenge and Boss Campaign levels (5 tiers below your highest tier for a map. All tiers if you have completed all tiers for that map).

- Added a Claim All button for daily login rewards.
- Added filter by favorite maiden.
- Added input fields to sliders. You can also manually type an amount.
- Added game speed in settings. Game speed is now also saved between sessions.
- Added a way to search by equipment name in the maiden panel.
- Added support for Android 12.
- Added toggle for auto play in combat. You can also now move maidens during auto play.
- Adjusted display in icons panel to show unlocked icons first.
- Adjusted list of maidens to not go back to the top of the list after closing a maiden’s panel.
- Severely lowered initial game loading time.

- Fixed an issue that caused a screen freeze when flirting with maidens (also removed the Loading...)
- Fixed an issue in Inventory when selecting Fodder items
- Fixed an issue with achievements displaying incorrect names and values

- Fixed an issue with Power Rating calculations (which caused game disconnection)
- Fixed an issue with PVP free refreshes not resetting correctly while logged in

- Fixed an issue with the Inventory useable items text count not scaling properly

**Balance**
- Micah's passive was changed back to 3% but can only proc once per life.
- Increase maximum gacha orbs to 1 million.

**Emergency Maintenance is over**
Hey everyone! We believe we managed to clear up the major issues that forced us to go in extended maintenance.

One of these issues we initially thought was caused by locked maidens and we unlocked them for everyone. It turns out, this wasn't the case. As you can imagine, unlocking locked maidens is not a sensible decision for the future of our game as locked maidens included hyper exclusive maidens as well. If you had locked maidens previously, they should now be back to locked. If you equipped items on either of them, those items will be back in your inventory.

Given the extended maintenance, the event end dates have been adjusted:
- The character event will end on April 25th.
- The crafting event will end on April 30th. The crafting period will end on May 1st.

To thank you for your patience and continued support, we've increased the maintenance rewards to 1500 gems.

**Known issues in the new build**
- Missing images for Panda Mask and Bonzai Spear.
- The game cannot be installed on Android 12. A fix will be coming for this in the next build release.

**Bug Fixes**
- Fixed an issue that reverted Micah's passive to its original state.
- Fixed an issue related to the upcoming World Boss feature that prevented users from logging in.
- Fixed an issue with the frequency at which server variables were being updated that caused tremendous server lag.
- Fixed an issue where your coin storage would be considered full even if it was not, preventing you from gaining new coins.
- Fixed an issue where using a consumable such as an XP boost or an energy pounch would not work.
- Fixed an issue with maiden images that would be displaced in the screen.
- Fixed an issue where Auto Play was functional in PvP instead of just PvE.
- Fixed an issue with equipping items.
- Fixed an issue when using the new select all button in inventory where it would select user-locked items, but not display that it did. It should now correctly only select non-locked items.
- Fixed the missing map 4 in the newest crafting event on normal.
- Fixed Sybil legendary and ultimate helmets not appearing in game.

**At last!**

Hey everyone! After an arduous several weeks, we've finally managed to deal with some pretty severe technical issues that were plaguing our game. We can finally begin to make more regular build releases and deliver on our promise to make quality of life changes. Today's build contains many of them already.

We are also in a position to release new maidens on a more regular basis as well. Today's maiden, Nessie, was meant to be released on April 1st so please do keep this in mind! There's a reason she's freely available to character event participants.

We sincerely hope you can understand and forgive us for leaving some nagging issues around for such a long time.

**Known issues in the new build**

- Clearing cache from within the game on android while being on Very Low quality will cause issues with building images.

- Added an option to auto play your maidens in settings for easy completion of campaign levels. We're currently discussing how to potentially transition to auto completes in the future.
- You can now unlock up to two additional item presets per maiden. This can serve as both additional storage space and easy gear swapping.
- Added the ability to buy various different gachas using Gacha Orbs. You can also make use of the multi-purchase discount with gacha orbs!
- Added more purchase options in the PvP shop.
- The latest sorting option you selected when browsing through maidens now saves between sessions.

- Added yellow highlight on maiden models in combat when hovering them.

- Reworked the settings panel.
- Reworked the login page on the DL & Steam versions.
- Added a variety of loading screen images.

[h5]**Bug Fixes**[/h5]
- Fixed ultimates appearing as set items in character events.
- Fixed loading screens not fitting certain screen sizes.
- Fixed 100% PvP defense crash.
- Fixed in-game Instagram URL.
- Fixed a long standing issue where items would sometimes disappear from your inventory. The items were not actually gone, but instead appeared as equipped even tho they were not. This fix should now make all items you may have been missing appear in your inventory.
- Fixed inventory select and filters.

**Event!**

A new crafting event exclusively featuring the Black Star & Cosmic Tree sets is now live! Collect ingredients and craft these Portal Realm rewards for this event only!

The crafting event ends on April 5th. The crafting period ends on the 6th.
