Play alone vs Bots?

If I start a server game, and no one joins, will I be playing alone with and against 63 other bots? I'm thinking of older games like UT and BF2 AIX that allowed you to play that way. What's the min number of players before the game drops you in?

I've played at off hours with as few as 8 real players, and the rest bots. On weekends and evenings, there will be a lot more players. Of course, having all real players is best, but the bots are also great. Especially when you capture a point, and they spawn to help keep it.

I've never had a match where I was alone vs bots.

I came to ask the same. But more specifically, is it possible to intentionally play solo with bots? If so, the devs should advertise this as a feature (singleplayer).

It gives some comfort to EA purchases knowing that worse case, if the community died completely, you'd still be able to play the game if you wished.

And sometimes it is just nice to play games solo a few rounds to get the feel of things before jumping into multiplayer.

Right now this is not an option. As you said, though, if the multiplayer died completely, you would still be playing single player with bots. Right now there are plenty of real players. So, either way, you have nothing to lose buying the game, especially on sale!
