if I got something wrong - terribly sorry dude. For past 2 weeks I am working 14h a day so my mind is kind a... 'slippery'... at the moment :'D
Bumper stickers for the areas completed. 1 per each vehicle used to complete an area.
BubbleHeads for the dash if you do something whacky. Or something else whacky; aerial flag, fluffy dice, nodding dog.
Challenging ... maybe an optional special paint scheme for the vehicle used to complete said tuff challenge. Or some kind of big challenge sticker to stick on the vehicle.
I'm talking about vehicle addons as far as unlockables. I feel Vehicle customization should be a priority, but also it will make people in your game want to keep playing to get whatever addon or wheelset that they want. You very well could go the rpg"ish" route and unlock things that benefit performace IE: larger wheels and tires, snorkel for water depth, chains for tires, horsepower increases, better bumpers or exocages to prevent damage. I don't think that would make this a bad game, But All i truly want is customization, and I would want it with performance enhancements or simply just cosmetic elements that make the game more enjoyable and give me a reason to play.
IMHO ... without balance, just adding positive upgrades moves away from it being a simulation, into being more of an arcade game.
Elements of customization would be nice for things like ride height, suspension stiffness etc or cosmetic changes that wont have a major effect on the ability of the vehicle.
Different tyres (grip / CoG)
Wheel chains (girp)
Suspension rate / ride height (stability / CoG)
Engine capacity/power (tourque / speed)
Snorkel (less engine damage)
Heavy duty axles / transfer box (tourque / speed / weight)
Winch (tourque / power)
Exo-cage (less damage / weight / stability / CoG)
Heavy duty bumpers (less damage / weight)
Roof rack (weight / CoG / load capacity)
All these would effect the physics / mechanical aspecs of the vehicle, and most would require some form of cosmetic change to the vehicle.
So what's good and bad, from a development point of view?
for which it will be possible to earn the above mentioned- purely cosmetic additional parts
That's actually our ideas too hehe. We do are using Steam Achievements API, but its also all in-build into the game. So regardless what platform are you playing Ultra Off-Road on - in-game achievements will be there.
Niice! :D
Are there beta testers already selected? How can you apply?
Oh and you're already in lol.
