That's... a bit more debatable but it's not bad.
Not wanting to take away from how good MASS builder looks, but it's not actually alone in terms of being a good current-gen mech game. It does things that make it very distinct from the competition - and it does things that make it seem like a really cool game. But it's not the only mech game to be doing cool and fun things at the moment.
Wow, Garrison Archangel looks good, added to the wishlist, thanks!
Exteel was p2w online arena game.
If you want that look no further than Mech Warrior Online.
If you want online arena game with fast mecha combat, but without p2w ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ there is this

We need offline single player mech building action game, not ANOTHER online arena game.
What was monetization model? Cosmetics only? I doubt that.
Pay to not play basically. You could buy basically anything either with the in game or RMT currencies.
It was possible to earn everything that had a mechanical impact by playing normally. But the grind to do this was terrible, and anyone who played that game long enough to get attached to it should be able to acknowledge this fact.
Between generally pitiful mission payouts, never ending repair costs, and the fact skills would simply expire with time instead of uses just made it impossible to field equipment equivalent to your ranking. This wasn't helped by wild swings in balance between patches making it necessary to completely change loadout every month or so because equipment would go from 'reliable staple' to 'not worth the storage space' without warning. Toward the end of the games life, people were still regularly fielding the starting equipment because it wouldn't need repairs, and that meant they actually had a chance to make some forward progress.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the hell out of Exteel and made a bunch of good friends along the way, but NCSoft killed it through greed and negligence. NCSoft were told from the moment the RMT went in (well before even open beta) that the grind was beyond brutal, and they refused to adjust anything.
i don't remember having those issues. but been a long ass time. i loved exteel and tbf 99% of companies are greedy lol.
Doesn't matter if it's exclusive to paying players or no, time advantage is also an advantage.
