Scroll of Acquirement - do the rewards get better deeper?

Do scrolls of acquirement tend to give better items later on?
Not having had enough to really test and could just be luck - but feels like early on I may get a long sword + but later on an inferno sword +, or a spiked shield early and a dragon shield later etc.

character level: 1, 7, 13
depth: maxes at Orc Fortress/Dark Temple 5

To be clear, character level determines how enchanted the weapon is (+1, +2, +3), while dungeon depth determines quality of equipment (Longsword vs. Broadsword, Longbow vs. Compound Bow, etc.). So ultimately, yes, you're better off waiting to wish for a weapon/armor if that's what you're going to use the scroll/wishing well for.

thanks - given that it is easy enough to quickly dive into Orc Fortress/Dark Temple 5 and then back up for the side dungeons this seems worthwhile before running those.
