Freezes on the Creaks title
Whenever I open, the game just freezes on the word Creaks.

Not on the menu screen, the screen that literally just has the word Creaks

I think Gush is saying that the game is freezing on the initial loading screen where you see the word ‘Creaks’ in white letters on a black background. Gush, have you tried deleting and reinstalling the game?

Thank you Lamkin, that is what I was trying to saying, Fortunately, I have found a solution, by playing on windows so am able to continue the game, but the mac version still freezes. Yes I did uninstall, but alas, no joy.

glad you get to play the game anyhow! Could you check if your Mac meets the hardware requirements listed on the Steam store page?

Alternatively, you can check out the list of supported devices on our website under "Hardware requirements" through here: https://amanita-design.net/games/creaks.html

If your Mac is supported (or if you are unsure of it) and the game still freezes despite Lamkin's advice regarding reinstall, would you please share your specs and os version? Thanks!

Ahh, I see what the problem was. I did not have sufficient storage space, I only had 3 GB free. All sorted. Also, just to let you know, I adore the game! It's absolutely brilliant, fantastic atmosphere, great great soundtrack, keep making brilliant games!

It still doesn't work for me. I tried on three computers. I can still see "Creaks" title and nothing else. I have over 100GB of free space and Windows 10. Do you have any idea what is wrong?

Hm, no change after reinstalling the game and restarting Steam and/or the computer? I assume all your other games work fine? Try disabling your antivirus for the download and quitting any programs you don't need to use during playtime.

You can also always try verifying the integrity of game files to see if something comes up. Here's how: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

Have you checked the requirements on the Steam store page? The Windows version requires a 64-bit system and DirectX 11 - do all three of the PCs have it installed?

I checked the integrity and it's ok. Directx version 12. I bought the game right after the premiere and I played it yesterday morning, but in the afternoon I couldn't start it. That's why I tried on other computers but the effect was the same.
Disabling the antivirus does not help.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Hello, I have the same problem on 2 computers - the game is freezing on the initial loading screen Creaks. Solutions above are not helping. It was working and then just stopped.

Okay, just to clarify: have you tried all the suggestions mentioned above or just the ones in my latest solutions post (deleting save folder)? Does the game freeze and become unresponsive or does it simply "sit there"?
